Best upgrade for me was:
MH-TX7026 Micro Heli Dual-Bearing Aluminum Bell Crank - T-REX 700
http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/mh-...rex-p-5722.html
But only after I had made a new plastic bearing with sufficient clearance.

Best regards Jesper Kofoed

The Align Metal bell crank works just as well.

I actually had the first Micro Heli one of these but the plastic cup for the ball wears quickly and needs to be frequently replaced.

and if you start to do 3D, you'll want to get the GForce upgrade Flybar control arms that go around the top of the head that the flybar goes through, I have broke two of them before the upgrade was added. The new ones have a slight bend downward that allows more pitch without binding. also the upgrade arms for the head (see saw)give you alot more control along with the control arm upgrade from GForce.

There's no need for the G-Force upgrade, although it looks good.

Just save your money for fuel and blades and fly the machine stock until you think you need more, even then you don't.

I cant believe that statement. what makes you say that? I believe he asked what upgrades did the generasl public think they needed to put on the Trex700, as you do the build, and you shoot me down? I have broken two of the original flybar control arms, and that is from experience. Evedently you havnt broken one yet, so why say thats not a problem? Several others at the club I fly at have broken their's also. It may be from throwing the sticks too hard, if it is, then, If the op is learning to do 3D, he will do the same with his. Not all of us are pro's, thats what makes this world go around. They have to start somewhere, right?

I, personally, would just fly the thing as is and upgrade as you go. No big deal. But if I was to make a suggestion.. it would definitely be the screws because I can see how it could be a pain in the arse to remove if you bugger them up. Although it hasn't happen to me yet (knock on wood). The 700, in stock form, would hold up to abuse from your average pilot unless your just constantly banging on the sticks. I've purchased allot of the upgrades everyone has suggested but its currently just sitting in my parts bin until something breaks. That was approximately six months ago, and it is still holding together. The links, is about the only thing I've noticed, thats starting to get a bit sloppy.

Who says that's a problem with the stock kit parts and not a poor configuration with too much cyclic on the radio?

I'm with Mike on this one, myself along with the dozens of other 700 owners I fly with locally have never broken a single flybar cage or control arms.

I have 8 degrees of cyclic pitch, +11 -11 degrees of pitch. Normal numbers, I think. The trick that broke mine in half, was a couple of misplaced pumps while doing tick-tocks. like I said, it may be from pushing the sticks a little too hard. There is a thread in the Trex700 forum about the cages breaking on a lot of pilots, for no apparent reason.

Same thing I thought, until mine broke in three pieces. I guess I shouldnt be concerned about trying to help some people on this forum... sorry to bother the dozens of pilots in your area, with the unbreakable control arms.

I am glad for you chimming in with your failures. Please share what has happened. It helps others make changes to save there helis. I had a boom back out due to not being pinned and I posted it. Just because it hasn't happened to someone doesn't mean it won't. Steve has allot of good experienced people in our club to go to so please feel free to comment on what he needs to know. NVM the trolls!

Yes as Jason said...

Thanks for all the comments on your personal experiences. Very good to know! I have a AWESOME local support group they are all a great bunch of guys, they are what I was lacking years ago when I tried getting in to this hobby then.

I know I should and probably am building it pretty much stock out of the box to begin with, maybe a couple small upgrades.

I am not flying this beautiful bird till I get more experience anyway. It will be my hanger queen probably till next spring/summer to give me some more stick time on my 600.

Are the LE ball links upgraded?

If not I'd go with the upgraded Quick UK kit. The only upgrades I have are those and the socket cap screw/washers. Nothing else really needed.

I had the Quick UK ball link upgrade on one of mine and didn't like them at all. For one the swash plate balls have a bigger base and it hits the swash plate leveling tool so I trashed it after that. I also had one pop off the flybar cage and caused me much problem while flying. I went with the align -1 upgraded ones and like them much better.

bummer, I have the QUK ones and have 112 flights with them. Suprisingly, they are still as tight as the 1st flight.

First time I've heard that with the Quick UK balls and links, jasnlemons. If the LE links are the upgraded ones when I'd say they are ok.

Basically, what most will tell you, is that the 700N does not need any updates at all to fly well and be reliable. Anything else I'd skip until you decided you really needed it or just like the bling.

It's best in my opinion to fly it stock first so you have a baseline.

I got mine in a trade heli. Has anyone noticed that the rim of the swash balls stick up and hit your leveling tool? I may have had a worn out set but they are gone now so no more worries.

These are what I run and they come in three colors and are fairly cheap. It takes five sets I believe.
