My beam has been sitting for about a month waiting for some parts and some time to repair it from my last crash.

Now that I have every parts, I can't get the head together! Sounds stupid but with the thrust bearing in the head, the spindle isn't long enough to get to the other side!?

Here are my mesurements, if anybody can help me, it would be appreciated :

- Spindle lenght 48mm
- Thrust race + 1 side cup = 2.5mm

What's the part number for those thrust bearing? I tought they might come with the blade grip but they doesn't!

I think I may have mixed some parts and I'm not using either the correct spindle (I have about 5 in stock, all the same lenght) or the correct thrust race... could I have mixed them?

Thanks for your help!

Are you sure that conical spacer/washer thing isn't backwards? I noticed that when someone put theirs back together at the hobby shop the other day. If its backwards it won't work, but don't ask me which way it goes, I don't remember. Just try a 180 on it.

I need one of those to fly in my office. Tried to fly my .90 in there but man is my wife pissed now!

I tried to look up the feathering shaft and it appears to only come in 1 size, Once you have the grip on there should be a 8x0.5mm spacer then the large grooved washer, the bearing, then the small grooved washer. That should be it. The part number for the thrust bearing is #F3-8m. Hope this helped. If you look back through the forum topics to about March of 09 there is a topic called "spindle". This may also help a little.

Do you have the correct brass spacer between the grip and headblock?
Also check in the grip if there is an extra washer/spacer that shouldn't be there.

I just got the new spindles the other day with the aluminum spaces. I found that with my blade grip I had to use the spacer with the two tapered ends for it to fit in my beam without play. I also did notice that the new spindles are a little longer than the original ones.

Does your spindle come with the brass spacers or the aluminum ones?

I just got a new kit a couple of weeks ago, and it looks like there are two versions of the bearing setup in the grips. You can have radial only or radial with thrust bearings. Parts wise I only see one type of feathering shaft that you can get so maybe the washers are what make the length correct.

tried everything I could think about tonight again.. man this must be so ridiculous!

Can anybody mesure the spindle shaft between the two nuts? You don't have anything to remove... come on

Must have a batch of short shaft... I did this at least 15 time before without problem!
