You've got to watch Matt fly in person! It's difficult to pick up on how razor sharp the guy flies with the camera but it's a fix for now until you do get to see him fly in real-life.

His second flight, without the canopy, was WAY OFF THE HOOK but I didn't have my camera ready. He was basically flying in this video with the dumb downed settings we were using to buddy box for the class, lol.

Matt uses OS engines so I'd be suprised if that was a YS91SR. Unless he was flying a machine other than his own.

So what did you learn at this school besides the fact that Matt can fly a heli fairly well?

I learned a great deal about training techniques and with just one class Matt had me coming very close to doing rolling circles and the conditions that we were flying in were some of the worst you could ask for. The head wind (15-20 mph gusts) was unrelenting and everything you did would get blown right back in your face. Matt also stressed that more wide open flying with smoothness and accuracy will only make your tighter more aggressive flying all the better. Matt can watch you fly for about 5 minutes and immediately see what you are challenged by and what you would be ready to try. The most important thing I learned and I continue to learn the same thing the more I fly is that you need to burn more fuel and try new things ( safely with smarts).

I learned to stop flying my same 10 maneuvers and keep trying new stuff to progress.

My setup is pretty good.

My choice of power systems wasn't.

And the toothless bartender at Logan's steakhouse really loved Matt.

STEVIE! WHERE ARE YOU?

I didn't make it to Logan's, but Matt was a great teacher. I have had several complements on all three of our flying improvements. Thanks Matt

What was wrong with it?

Duralite Lithium ION + Duralite Regulator @ 7V wasn't pushing enough current ... switched to a LiPoly + Arizona Reg @ 6V, big difference, you can feel it ... Using Outrage XPRX 3600's ... BLS351's on the cyclics ...

Yup. happens once you start needing AMPs to push the servos. Duralite and the Align reg just don't have it. The Ariaziona can deliver up to 15 AMPs. Lipos are cheaper than lithiun ions any way and lighter. That is what i use.
