i will have the kit here tuesday, but cant find the manual online and was wanting to know the distance that is suggested in the manual on the cyclic servos from center to ball position.

if anyone knows this, please let me know as i am going to be ordering all aluminum servo horns and dont know if i should get the short half arms or the full half arms...

I wouldn't use Aluminum Arms on a Plastic Gear Servo. A crash with direct drive servos will definitely play heck on the Plastic Main gear of the servo. If you are using 8717's or something with a Metal main gear, then it is a 50 50 chance on which will strip, the Arm of the Main Gear. I would use Plastic arms for sure. Aluminum looks pretty, but will cost you more in the end.

Hope this helps.

You learn what not to do and how to rebuild. I know a guy that can rebuild one at the field in less than 30 minutes.

So far my build is pretty good. Had some minor alignment issues and got it fixed. Gotta say that this heli seems to be coming together alot better then the ultimate.

Alignment issues.

Please be advised that the large bearing in the clutch stack might not be Glued into the Block Sufficiently. I found this out the hard way. Try and pry the bearing out, if it comes out with little effort, you have just saved yourself some future head aches. Use Green Loc Tite to make a permanent fixture.

When you are done with that. make sure your clutch stack is tight, no up or down play. Leave the clutch stack Bearing Blocks loose in the frame, put the bolts in, but leave them a little loose Then tighten the motor to the motor mounts. Now you want to use the little bit of play in your Frame to set your clutch height, Make sure it isnt bottoming out, you want it to be just even with the bottom of the bell, not stuffed against the top of it. Tighten this in.

Now go to your clutch stack. Tighten it up just a bit, so you can move it but not easily. Then put your starter in there and give it about 3 or 4 ,20 second burst. Then carefully tighten your bearing blocks. This will help give you the correct alignment.

Last, make sure your mesh is good. Tight is way better than Marginal, It will wear in, believe me.

Now you are ready to go.

Hope this helps

Craig
