sorry about the down time. i've lost the cable for my camera,(my two year old may be holding it for ransom). I did some riveting and i've got to do a little sanding on some of the fuselage before i finish them out. Hopefully by the time i finish them i'll find my chord or buy another. I've received my parts to stretch the tail. The current parts i have for the mechanics and electronics are as follows, gy401, Align gov., complete airframe (stretched), nimh batt., and an ar7000 rx. atvracer has a hyper 50 we're working out a deal on. Now all i need are servos, and a few parts to finish building my head. At that point i'll decide on my blades. Still have a lot to do. I'm going to get my wood sheets this weekend and make up a mount for the airframe and some skeletal pieces to sturdy the fuselage up inside. i'm contemplating buying some skids custom made from a guy here in oklahoma , or building them myself. i think i'll try it and if i'm not happy i'll order a set up. price is kind of steep but a lot of work goes into them and the skids are awesome. i'll try and get some pics up soon. i'm pleased with the rivets thus far.

well i lost the cable for my camera but i found it tonight so i'll be posting some pics a little later of what i've got accomplished thus far. i'm going to be in the shop late tonight trying to get the mechanics together as much as possible and finishing my sanding and rivets. i had a few spots i wasn't happy with in the primer so i sprayed a light coat last night and i'll sand and rivet tonight. should be an all nighter. i have to leave enough energy in me to go fly tomorrow though. gonna break out the tz and get my thumbs back in shape.

You are going to have carpal tunnel thumb from squeezing on the syringe. I thought they would make a rivet tape or something like that.

Are you having trouble controlling the dot size or is there a metering device of some sorts?

thanks for the link. that's a nice little heli. great pics of the cockpit. those pics will come in handy. when i'm doing the rivets i just keep consistent pressure on the plunger and keep a steady rythum. if you don't like one you can just wipe it off. i'm going to remove a few here and there and redo them. the ones in the pics are about right. they shrink up quite a bit when they dry. it's not that hard to do but it takes a little doing to get them like i want them. the wind was terrible here today so i didn't get any flying in. but atvracer and i are going to fly tomorrow no matter what, and at least get our helis tached. i'll pull another late one in the shop tonight and hopefully i'll have the mechanics ready for a test hover tomorrow.

well, it was a late night last night but i got the raptor ready to fly. i just got finished with the test hover and she flys, but i've got a side to side wobble in the head somewhere. the tail held well which was what i was mainly concerned with. i'm almost finished with the rivets and i'll start getting her ready for a basecoat, mainly to fuel proof everything for my maidens. here's some pics to show the rivets and the length of the raptor. i think she'll fit nicely without any other modifications.

this heli sat down on the local football field today so all the elementary kids could crawl all over it and check it all out. my kids all got to flip all the switches they wanted. i got some good shots of rivets, skids, cockpit etc. it's not the long ranger but it's real close.

Ya that is really cool. I picked up my 10 year old at school during a half day. I used the R22 Robinson though. I did not have anything big or fancy like the Jetranger or a Hughes 500, but none the less my oldest and my youngest became a very well liked kids and it was cool. That was 2 years ago and the kids at school are still talking about it today.

I had a problem with the green paddles and the red dampners in the metal head. went to a plastic head, black dampners, and black paddles on my stretched E620 runnin 680 NHP blades at 1400 rpm. the metal head is the real problem with runnin slower head speeds, and also the dampners too. really it took all three things to get the head wobble out!!

that's great to know Jestrr. thanks, i'll put the plastic on and change the dampeners. i had trouble with this setup causing woof and poof for a while and couldn't figure it out. maybe that was some of the problem. i'm trying to figure out the flash player used on the lifeteam site so i can get some still photos. i may be able to get one or two from a brochure i have so i can get you some pics of the skids. here's some little details i got in the mail today. and some of jestrr's skids like the one's i'd like. the ones on my subject heli have some blue on them but these are identicle otherwise.
