i gues the peak hp rpm is higher then the specs state at 8500. it makes alot more sense knowing that one critical peice of info. so i take it the g20 motor has the same peak hp rpm as the 231.

To much power is never enough.

""What's the difference between the two heads""

the G20 LT has a Modified 50 head, it has a 7mm Spindle with 50 size Main Grips,,

the G20 HD has the Predator 90 Head ..

to add, built stock these heads have a locked-in feel, meaning they track very well and wont feel squirrely at high speeds, for a more lighter feel for a Tighter Crisper 3D feel all you need to do is install the all Metal Grips,, LOL ask me how I know LOL

Radical

The prototype guys will have to answer to what the engine has done for them, I think in an airplane application with a prop installed 8500 would probably close to the rpm limits. Look at the rpm specs for a 260 Zenoah airplane application vs the helicopter rpm.

I wonder if it has to do with the exhaust ,the stk tin can has to be very restrictive and obviously has no tuning, where as the century tuned muffler I would assume is like a tuned muffler on a nitro where it takes the best of a tuned pipe and a muffler and combines it for a tourqier then a tuned pipe power and relitivley quiet allthough not as powerfull as a tuned pipe it has a wider power band to work with.
when i used to pipe and port snowmobiles and dirt bike i found that the pipe with the widest power band was usually the fastest on any given day because it was so much easier to tune to a 500 rpm wide band then a 200 rpm band.I know on snow mobile when going from a sigle tune muffler on a twin to twin tuned pipes there was usaully about a 1000 rpm increase of peak hp rpm, and that was starting with a tuned muffler already.

To much power is never enough.

The muffler CN3070 is a tuned muffler for the G-20 that can be adjusted by installing a washer in the outlet area, we will see how that works.

would be interesting to see what kinda power this pipe from b.h. hanson would do for the g20. there claim on there mod 231 motor with their heli pipe is 4.8 hp. thats a whole lot more then 1.7 http://www.bhhanson.com/Helicopter%...duct%20Line.htm
with motor and pipe $700.00 for a 4.8 hp rocketship.

Radikal

OK The Radikal is built, it was a good straight forward build, time spent was probably three evenings.

The Radical is equiped with the following ----Zenoah G-20 engine with electronic module, 3500 SR 4 cell battery, 2800 JR 4 cell battery (ign module)
gy 401 gyro with 9254 servo , GV-1 Governor, 9202 servos, AR7000 Spektrum rec, CN3070 3D tuned muffler, and Rotortech 620mm main blades.

The weight without fuel but with the canopy minus the windscreen showed 9.24 pounds

I plan on flying it tomorrow assuming the engine starts and I get a good range check.

I have pictures and will try to down load one.

The highest rpm I ran the Pre production model was 13860 on the engine...2160 on the head...We made a pinion change to get the rotor rpms down...

I'm now putting together a Production model...Its the most friendly build of all the models I have put together from Century...

I'm also excited about the quality of this kit..It is a whole new ball game now with this machine...

The Hanson will be in this machine...
