Got the new King 3 today and flew three flights --right out of the box. Really enjoyed it! Very well put together, dampning just right, paddles were straight belt tension just right. Comes with a 10 tooth pinion w/ the 3900 KV motor--- put on a 11 tooth to liven it up a little Took off the verticle and horizontal tail fins and put on a Black carbon vertical fin only.
Stock blades are pretty damn good and the tracking is "right on". No signs of glitching with the stock 72 mHZ radio system and the Esky 8 gram digital servos worked perfectly as far as I'm concerned.
The motor ,ESC and batteries were barely warm after 6 minute flites. The tail would occasionally wag but no big delio. Gyro gain is adjusted on a knob on the top right of the radio-- very quick and easy. The pitch is adjusted with the knob on the top left of the radio.
For 159.95 with free shipping I Love this thing and it is my new favorite heli
Very visable in the air with the bright Red and Yellow canopy-- the perfect backyard flyer IMO. Hopefully get a VID this weekend - weather dependent, my camera video is Almost viewable if the Sun is extremely bright and shining in the right direction !

I have the same color but I put blue fin and blades for contrast. I was having trouble seeing that with turning leaves around here but 3 days of frost has fallen all the leaves so Its OK now.

Can't wait to see some video!

Thats true ZAW copperclad, don't expect a "wild 3D machine" but it flies really good in my opinion !! You don't get much in this hobby for 159.95

Btw, today I flew Rave, which is monster from power point of view. I flew it because I crashed 'Lil Be' yesterday. And you know what? I liked flying HBK more! I like flying Rave for sure. Nice machine, plenty, plenty of power, flips blazingly fast at half cyclic stick, tic-tacs with no problem and motor bogging, etc. But I miss necessity to FLY flips, not just flip, flip, flip. I miss HBK in my reincarnation now... I will fix it.

Doug, hope to see some videos soon! As it was before and you fed us with some of your flying on a regular basis.

I love my k-3 but I have nothing to compare it with other than the 4g3, and I think that is apples and oranges. Now if I could just keep the k-3 in one piece long enough to learn to fly it.

Great news Doug! Just don't fly it into can. The upscale v3 deserves more respect. I just added the v3 skids it my HBK2 which was the last remaining v2 part.

Plastic balls in the head were replaced with metal. Bushings were replaced with bearings.

First flight in the Big field, windy as a bastard. Cyclic is very fast on this thing--me likes.
The tail wags sometimes and sometimes it doesn't, its the new Esky black and purple HH gyro--- it has the limit and delay pots set on 50% from the factory, does anyone any setting recommendations for this gyro ?
Of course most of you know my video camera "blows donkey ****)but here it is anyway !
