Im looking to get into a gasser and wondered which any of you would recommend to start off with. Im flying a couple of nitro 30's now but saw a guy with a JR gasser a couple of weeks back and loved the sound/performance. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

Everyone here that has a Bergen Intrepid likes it, so i bought one & is it ever well manufactured! But what sold me was the customer support from the Bergen people, I rate support very high when I buy something specially when it crashes I want parts NOW!!

Bergen gasser here too and love them so much that I have had two in the last few yrs.I love the way it flys and the way it lasts ,short of me dumb thumbing it. I live 1 hr away from his machine shop and can call him and stop by to pick up the parts quickly .He will even leave them out side for me if he is not going to be there. You can't beat the friendly service and bend over backwards service to help you out.

Just to give another point of view.

I have a Miniature Aircraft X-Cell Gas Graphite.

I've had it since 1996. It flies well and has a lot of nice features.

The real thing you should ask is where can you get parts! If you have a local shop which has parts for a gas heli, go with that brand.

If you don't care (or don't have) a local shop, then go with a brand which has good support. I've had great luck with MinAir X-Cell.

They are a USA made and designed bird and have great support IMHO!

Thanks for the input...

There is a new JR z230 on Ebay right now that Im looking at. Im going to call Horizon to see if they can still support it. If not, the Bergen sounds like the next choice. Anyone know offhand what kind of payload capacity these might have? Eventually would like to mount a Canon XL1s on it...it weighs shy of 7 lbs.
Thanks again
Joe

Joe, any of the current gassers will ferry the camera equipment around well, no worries there.
