I got around to playing with the Heli with the Kontronics today (been flying my Nitros more lately). Some things seemed to work and others seemed not too; but can't fully tell.

When I followed the sequence:

Quote
1. Connect the Power Jazz to the ProgrCARD
2. Connect the ProgrCARD to the correct channel in the receiver
3. connect the receiver battery to the receiver
4. connect the main battery to the controller

... it didn't work. The only difference is that I'm using a Jive+HV. When I did step 3, the ProgCard flashed once and went off to indicate the LEDs work, but when I plugged in the Main Battery to the Controller, nothing!

What did seem to work was:

1. Connect the Jive+HV to the ProgrCARD (ESC terminal)
2. Connect the ProgCARD to the correct channel in the receiver (Battery terminal)
3. Connect the main battery to the controller
4. connect the receiver battery to the receiver

Then I happily start programming the Kontronics; but (there's always a 'but', when I get to the Zero and Full Throttle setting, it seemed to work because the ProgCARD did not shut off, but the LEDs for those functions did not stay on. Is this correct?

I ask this because when I bench test the throttle by spooling up with no load (took the entire head off), there is increase in motor speed up to 60% throttle. After 60% throttle, there is no increase. Is it because there is no load?

Thanks again for your help.

If you are using the Jive+hv you do not need a receiver battery.
For programming card 2 you should not have the card connected to the receiver at all, just the ESC.
For programming card 1 you do not need the receiver battery as I have found out. I had the same no light issue as you did, the fix is to turn on the transmitter last.
1. Connect card 1 "esc" to the ESC.
2. connect card 1 "battery" to throttle channel on reciever.
3. connect flight battery to ESC.
4. turn on transmitter.

Thanks...Will try again.

Regardless, it does fly, just being a little picky and a little paranoid ...

OK, reset the entire setup and started from scratch and it seems to work as expected now. The main difference this time is that I left it in Mode 4.

The last time I was trying to be a "smart alec" and programmed it to Mode 11 after Mode 4 since the manual said Mode 11 is Heli+Governor; but the manual only showed how to programme to Mode 4. So, I waited for 11 beeps. It did work though.

Once again, thanks to everyone for the knowledge, time and patience.

Ken

Edit: P.S. I think I'll leave it in Mode 4 now, unless anyone violently objects.
