wow this is great news for our Ravens and NX,, see below Century's G20 reply that was in the Gasser Page,,

Century has made a new 7mm Spindle with newly redesigned Dampeners for the G20,,
this should fit the Raven and NX with a few new Bearings and Washers, we will have to wait a bit to find if this will work with the Stock Raven/NX Grips ??,

I for one would like a 7mm Spindle for my Raven (soon to be an NX)..

Century's reply,,
""It is essentially a 50NX head however, it's been upgraded. The feathering shaft is now a 7mm shaft so all bearings and dampeners have been changed as well""

Hey guys, just have to say this 7mm spindle is not much to brag about.
The swift 16,550,620,predator all use a 8mm spindle. If you want bigger spindle now, do what I did a few years back..I put a all metal swift head on my old raven50 and called it a " RIFT " Definitely flew different then the two machines on their own characteristics. The swift head is shorter, so smaller disk than raven head would give, but it flew very, very nice and solid with les bog when I messed up

Oh, yeah 8mm on my machines survive after most crashes.

Blade master

the 7mm spindle would be a down grade from the 8mm your swift has now.

LOL

I edited my earlier post
the 7mm would be an upgrade for the Raven and NX

The Swift CNC head is a better value than the Predator head
definately more robust then the Raven head

That may happen yet !!

Ya thinking of doing a 620se stretch since my 550 is WAY over powered I might put the 550 back to stock form with a 4S power system and build my 620se with the Radikal Tail boom and belt.

then I can have both electrics
1 Kinetic
1 NX
1 Raven Terminator
hopefully get the gassers someday
Then I'll have completed my sickness " I mean collection !

Unless Century comes out with a 450 electric

I bend the 6mm even in the smallest screw ups. If I damage one blade the spindle goes with it. I guess something gotta give somewhere.

I wouldn't throw away a good 6mm spindle just to upgrade

but when it comes to replacing crash parts why not upgrade to better parts costs are virtualy the same

But Dilbeck, thats just it. if you have a 6mm spindle, or an 8mm spindle, your going to bend it!

a couple months ago i had a mild mishap with the predator, which uses an 8mm spindle. it was just a crappy auto, and ended up going into the corn.

there was nearly no energy left in the blades when it went in. the canopy didnt even have a scratch, the blades were not damaged at all. i was able to give it a quick once over and fire it right back up.

the only part that was bad, was the 8mm spindle!

You need to have something to absorb some energy somewhere.

Like when for example people demanded a 4mm spindle vs the 3mm spindle on the 450's.

I dont know about other people, but that extra 1mm hasn't saved me a spindle in any of my crashes...

my 2 cents...

""why the hype over a larger one?""

well I would think that a larger 8mm Spindle supporting Bearings with larger IDs would hold the Grips more rigid vs a smaller 5mm Spindle supporting Bearings with smaller IDs,,

as for me, after flying with the Metal Grips for a while I think I rather have the Plastic Grips back because the Plastic Grips give a more locked in feel while the Metal Grips give a more lighter, crisper feel,, so I would rather use the 7mm Spindle with the Plastic Grips..
