Hi!

When I apply full collective quickly, the tail of my beam goes to the right, and that's a bit annoying for me...

I guess the headspeed change quite abruptly and that's why it acts like this, doesn't it ? I guess the gyro can't react quickly enough...

Should I change my throttle curve (100-92-85-92-100) ?

I have a gy520 with BLS257 on the tail...motor 2221-6 with 11t pinion

Thank you very much for your answer !!

Run a flat throttle curve or bring your middle number up 100 95 90 95 100. I run the hitec gyro on my beam and its rock steady on punch outs. Overall how do you like the GY520 and BLS257? I have been thinking about getting that setup for my other beam.

That's what I thought... The thing is... this motor is so powerful...
I have 14 degrees pitch at full and this thing DON'T bog :-) :-)

I've flown my beam only four times today with this new gyro and servo...so I don't have a lot of experience with them..
I'll let you know how they are..

but they must be very good because the combo is quite.... expensive ;-)

The only doubt I have is.. will the beam withstand the headspeed of the 2221-6 at 90 or 95% at mid-stick ??

because the first I've built just exploded in midair in 100% flat...

But I think I damaged the top bearing (upper block) during contruction..
but now I'm afraid of this thing happening again :-(

You dont have to run 95% across, try a lower value, but keep it constant, say 80% all the way across.

flat 80 ? But I won't have all the power I could...

and at full pitch the headspeed will drop, won't it ?

I have a scorpion commander... could I use the governor mode ?

ufoman, 80 is a good percent to be flying at. You don't need to go much higher unless you are doing hard 3D. At 90 to 100 your performance will be better but the battery will not last as long per flight. It is normal to lose some head speed at full pitch, but you really shouldn't be flying at full pitch. Normally you would use full pitch to just to give it a pop to change direction but then reduce your collective to maintain head speed. The beam can handle the high head speed, it sounds like you might have lost the bearing you mentioned. Hope I helped a little.

Probably not, but above you were concerned about running it at 100%. Get a tach and get it to where you want it. I would say no to any gov. on that size heli. Just run a straight throttle curve, it'll stay close enough.
