I saw some of his work at IRCHA and on Scott Gray's F3C machines, and I must say they look amazing... Can't wait to see some canopies for the SG...

G

did you get to see joe's own super gracy body painted? it looks great. he is going to have a scheme done for his 90SG that is very similar to his super gracy.

personally I think I am going to get the "membrane" design when I build my SG. http://www.u-neakdesigns.com/store/...?pg1-cid38.html

also, just curious did you get it RTF with the 8717HV's or just the airframe?

Sad to hear about your crash. But this is our hobby, you spent lots of $$$ and time to get your stuff just the way you like it and when is flying the best you just get carried away having a blast and broke it

Since everybody is off-topic I'll like try to know what caused the crash, did you came off the slide inverted or upright ? Coming off inverted is more prone to a boom strike. Did you have hard 90c dampers ?

Usually coming of a tail slide is a two stage maneuver, first the elevator then the pitch. Or inverse the order but smoother on pitch to come of with higher rear speed.

@ LoveMyTrex

I got the whole deal without the gyro and blades

@ Pulento

I was using the hard dampeners. I came off upright, but before that the heli was in a vertical position, coming down very fast, with fast tic-tocs...

G

Let me get that. You were falling on the tail and suddenly made it fall on the nose to get her tic-toc when falling on the nose ?

Haven't tried/saw it did you even get to the tic-tocs ?

You were having a blast

Hard to explain, but I will try...

The heli was coming tail down vertically at about 100 meters high. It picked up some serious speed, then I started doing the fastest "small" tic-tocs possible as the heli is still picking up speed. My plan was to stop it at about 50 meters, and continue with piro flips until the heli is almost on the ground... But when I tried to stop the heli and turn it into piro flips, that when it happened. Does this make sense? I can try to elaborate on it if you want

Regards,
G

G:

My SG90 carbon fiber chassis + 8717HV + V-Bar proved to be a dangerous choice in my case, glishes and lost of signal just once with the corresponding crash.

no problem once I placed my regular 8717 from Vibe 50 though !

Vibe 50 is working now a days with 200 dollars servos, go figure that one out !!

Do your radio range check before maiden flight just in case ok !

I took the damaged Insane Canopy to my LHS and they will try to repair and repaint the lower part of it for me. I asked them to try to make it exactly the same as it was before. Let's see how the job will be done... I will post pictures once I receive it back...

G

Just got the canopy back from my LHS and they did a great job of repairing my totaled Insane Canopy... This time it has my name on it too

Here are some pics

Most of the upper part of the canopy has been untouched. The lower part of the canopy was almost gone after the crash...

G

Bryan, I'm still in need of some RHSHIP stickers... what happened?

@Aviation

Yeah, those guys are great. Actually both of the larger hobby shops here have their own painters. Both great artists.

G

Yeah, I'm very pleased with the outcome. The only thing is that on my original one I had some white near the landing gear, but this one is all yellow. I kinda prefer the white, it looked nicer with white landing gear...
