I am still flying a raven 30 and still using a wire drive system. I would like to convert to torque tube. I was looking at the price of a replacement torque tube, and i looked at the price of a replacement torque tube and kinda cringed. I herd somewhere over the bush that you can use arrow shaft to replace a TT. Can that be done or is that just a rumor?

Carbon fiber arrow shafts work just fine to replace the stndard torque tube IF the torque tube us a double dog-bone type. The torque tube for the Sport version was a double dog-bone, while the torque tube for the Pro is a single dog-bone.

I replaced the bearing in the retainer, and use heat shrink tubing to retain the torque tube in the bearing .... works well, and is easily serviced.

IMO, just switch over to the complete Raven system.
1. saves hassle on reorder
2.Uses double dog bone which saves your TT in some crashes due to the
added movement the DDB allows.
3.If the "arrow shafts" dont work out, replacements are a click away.

You will need to either
get the wire tail push rod for a Falcon 50
mount the tail servo where the Raven does
Or mount the servo on the boom

If you really are crashing alot consider sticking with the wire drive. Not a great system but if you are doing FF, rolls and loops and not really working the tail too hard, its fine. A new TT is $30, wire drive, what $10? When you get into harder flying you'll want the TT for sure.
