Someone gets into a Car Accident and lives - "Thank God for spareing my life"
Get in Car Wreck and dies - "It was Gods plan. He has better plans for him"

You can thank god all you want. In the end it is you,the person, thats in control of you destiny. If you thank god for every little thing(good or bad) that happens in this world, then god is in it on everything. He knows the future; Knows who will die and who will live; who will be good and who will do evil.

A priest was told to leave his house because the flood waters were rising.

He assured the officers that God would protect him and he wasn't leaving.

The flood came, the priest was forced to the second floor of the house. A boat came by and they said, "C'mon father, we're here to save you."

Again the priest told them he had faith that God would come and sent the boat away. The flood waters rise and now the priest is on the roof. A helicopter comes by, sends down a rescue basket and tells the priest to get in.

"No thanks, God will be the one to save me.

The helicopter left, the flood waters rise and wash him off the roof and he drowns. The priest arrives at the pearly gates and asks God why he didn't save him.

God replied, "I sent an officer, I sent a boat, I sent a helicopter...What more did you want?"

mckrackin, what if you are wrong, what will it take for you to believe in God, you know if us believers are wrong then we have nothing to lose, we lived a heart filled and happy life, but if your wrong, you have everything to lose.
if someone like me, took believing in God to become a better person, why try to take that away from me. something to think about.

I agree. I always wondered why these "anti-Christ" people get off on bashing people of faith. Specifically faiths that encourage goodness. Why not encourage people who are trying to promote goodness even if you don't believe? Either that or leave it go and be thankful there are people of all mindsets out there encouraging goodness.

What would life be like if we all agreed there is no God?

No more "In God We Trust" Instead... "In Our Leadership We Trust"

What would we say when we get mad in place of "Jesus Christ"?...

If you read a little closer,I'm not the one trying to change anything.
Almost everything I've said has been a responce to someone trying to change me.

Again, I believe that people need to stop thinking of God as Santa or someone that will give you everything and fix everything for you.
He gave us free will to do what we want with this world. Most of our problems are of our own making.
This life is a test of how we handle it!

And by the way, I believe in evolution, but not as the answer to everything.

I'm typing really slow tonight. I was installing bulkheads in some fleet vans all day. About 2:00, My punch broke while punching the stem out of a massive rivet. The force from the hammer drove the broken punch under the fingernail of my ring finger, right past the knuckle. Then it ripped out the side of the finger, leaving a 1 inch long gash down to the bone. Now, I'm contemplating a trip to the ER.

I find it funny that people get so charged either FOR or AGAINST God.

For those who get so emotional defending God. He is God. The opinions of people should not matter if He is as scripture says. Why worry about the opinion of a non-believer? All you can do is show them the path.

For those charged AGAINST God. Why worry? True believers don't harm other people, and do a lot of good. How is their belief hurting you?

Notice I said TRUE believers don't harm other people...I've heard the argument that religious zealots cause all the problems of the world. But I believe that anyone who takes God's matters into his own hands is lacking in faith.

If a man blows up an abortion clinic in the name of God, he is showing a lack of faith.

An extremist, killing innocents for God, is lacking in Faith.

A government official, trying to stop the theory of evolution from being taught in schools, is lacking in faith.

Why do these people feel the need to step in to do what God can do Himself? Why do these people take matters into their own hands? Why smite or rob another person of their free will if God will sort it out in the end?

I argue that people doing these acts "FOR God" are actually doing it for themselves and don't think God is going to do it, as scripture states.

If God is who we say He is, He doesn't need someone doing it for Him.

Slight hijack here, last night I watched a doco called 'Jesus In India'.

It was about Jesus' "lost years" from the ages of 12 to 30. Research has shown that he most likely travelled to India via the Silk Road and studied Hinduism and Buddism before returning to Palestine. Puts a whole new light(no pun intended)on the early influences and beginnings of Christianity. Interesting stuff indeed.
