Chuck I think you'll find it's just about the same overall size as a 600 trex but wieghs a little more . It might be what your looking for but think it's still going to be a little bigger then what you want. I'm guessing it will be like 12 lbs rtf.

Teave, I doubt it will come anywhere near 12 lbs. Heck, my big G231 powered Predator with 720 blades only weighs a bit over 12 lbs, ready to fly (less fuel of course).

I don't see anything about it that would make it loose much weight. the engine will weigh about the same . the chassis will be a few oz. lighter along with the blades but that's about it I figure about a pound my predator wieghs a little over 13.6 lbs ready to fly. so I'm guessing like 12 ready

my trex 600 wieghs like 10 lbs

According to the specs on this gasser, the weight comes in at 4500 grams dry with electronics and engine. Just under 10 lbs.

Full specs are here http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t545284p1/

>>I wonder how much power a modified 20cc can put out?<<

My guess is that it is something like the OS .70 glow fuel 2 stroke heli engine. The vibration will be a bit more because of the larger displacement.

Trex 600 flying weight is 3Kg (http://www.trendtimes.com/trex-600-...helicopter.html)
OS 50 hyper = 1.9HP (http://www.osengines.com/engines/osmg1951.html)
zenoah 20ei = 1.7HP (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Product...ProdID=ZENE20EI) with a weight of about an extra 1.3KG with extra muffler weight... so modified might get to the power of a .60 for an extra weight penalty of 1.5Kg

..so at best your flying a 600 with a brick tied to the skids.. but saving fuel cost. If the torque is there then stick 620 or 650 blades on for lift...but you can't lose the mass.

why so serious

well, like the larger 23cc/26cc Gasoline helis I don't think people will be buying the G20 because it's a super hot 3D'ing heli,,
they will be buying it for what it is,, a cool little gasoline heli that brings something different to the hobby !!

How can a 600N weigh 10lb unless setup for AP or streached to 700 size?
My 600N's weigh around 7.5lb...

Century says the tuned muffler bumps the HP to 2.4 ,
with a modified engine we might see close to 3HP???

10lb with 640 or 660 blades would be pretty good I think ,
if it has the power to maintain the headspeed when you give it a big pull

Last time I checked , HC was testing some SWE 640's on his Velocity 56

The EI motor lacks the flywheel, and the flywheel helps to dampen vibration.

I ran the 20cc in a 600 conversion for months and so have other people on RR and the lack of a flywheel didn't cause any problems at all, the 600 flew very well with 680 blades and the only thing I didn’t like about the heli was having to charge two packs, I sold it to raze funds for the 700 conversion but I regret not having it now.

Any problems with the 20cc they might be having could be down to the airframe design, engine mounting and so on.

I just don't understand why anyone would want to do this. You get the worst of both worlds. A heavy, underpowered engine which uses expensive fuel and makes a slime trail everywhere it goes.

Maybe it’s worth the effort for planks because of the weight saving plus planks are easier to wipe down

""So what is the best or better ignition system for this heli ?""

well I would think the Electronic Ignition would have Spark Advance that would create a bit more power than the Magneto..

""Please be sure to post all your results""

sure will

""You get the worst of both worlds""

not at all !!
A) the heli would be lighter with more power, lighter because you would have no Ignition & no Ignition Battery and more power because you would be burning Alcohol,,

B) you would not leave a slime trail because once mixed with Gasoline you would be using somewhere around 13% less oil per-gallon than a Glow Engine uses,,

C) yes the Gasoline/Glow Mix would cost more per-gallon than straight Gasoline but still the Zenoah would burn much less fuel than an OS 50 and much much less than an OS 70..
