Does anyone have experience with this? I was told on HF you have to either tap the pin out or press it out. I tried tapping with then end of a pinion puller that fills the hole, but it looks like the end might be getting bent up.

There is no royal road to flying helis but the sim sure helps!

ok, fyi if you didn't see it on hf, I tapped it out using a 1.5mm hex driver. No way I could do it alone, I needed to hold it and guide the driver while my son tapped it. Now to get it back in, lol.

Costs a bit more, but the metal tail pulley is held in place with a set screw, rather than a roll pin. MUCH easier to service!

akshaw neglected to mention that he has an Atom 500, which doesn't have a metal pulley option.

I agree with your recommendation for the Knight.

No need for apologies, glad to help when I can, otherwise can't say I didn't try LOL!

Glad it's sorted out, and yes those roll pins are a PITA! I don't have a handy link for the tool, but I do know there are punches made specifically for that job.

I use a hardened steel pin chucked in my drill press to do the deed when need be.

A 2mm Drift tool will get the pin out.
