My Posts This: Topic Forum | This is interesting because myself and wife switched to Synergies this year. We had Aligns(600's at first and then I got a 700), and I flew a N9 around and that was it! The 700 was sold soon there after. Don't get me wrong, the 7 is a cool machine, but it has it's quirks, and I cannot imagine switching at all, unless it's a Rave 90, but there would have to be a distinct or desperate reason. I have the 450 Rave, and have seen the ENV 90, so I know it's built well, but when you get a Syn, your buying an investment to flying.. A 700, ehhh.. It's another machine to me... LOL
The building was fine for me, as we purchased the Hyper parts, with the exception of the flybar conversion.. That in itself, took alot of the issue out of building it correctly, but you still have to take your time and there are some things that building Aligns, you will not know. So there is a learning process involved, if you haven't built a helicopter of that ccaliber.. But once it's built right and setup right.. Those things are amazing!
Someone asked me recently, what will happen with me when the Rave 90 comes out? And my response was simply, I love the Rave(I have a 450), but unless something happens where Synergy folds, I will be flying Syn's!
It does take time to learn the in's and outs of the machine, but that's pretty much any heli.. And yes, I agree with everyone else, if your crash prone, the Synergy isn't for you! Maybe, cut your teeth on say a 600, get comfortable and smooth with some maneuvers, then step up to the Cadillac! The big beast that purrs... And have someone help with the building if this is your first time building one and you have someone around that knows about them. Ask some tips...
It's not the machine at all, because those things are like tanks! But if you can't build it, of course it's going to be nothing but a headache.. My first build, I took for granted because I can "throw together" a 700 or 600 in probably 8 hours, but those are like plug and play, a 21st century plastic(in this case fiberglass or carbon) fantastic.. You have to "build" the Synergy.. For en'masse the 700's and 600's are cool, but the Syn to me, is a much more precise machine to fly.. You can flip flop it like a 7 if you do some lightening, but even when you lighten it, it's like an arrow, straight and true. No weird tendencies from what I have noticed in flying either of mine.
But, this machine is just that.. And yes, I wish they would revamp the pricing on the gears and a few other everyday crash parts, but, the thing is, that I know the quality is there with the parts and the kit. It's on me whether I am able to build it correctly and make it fly well.. But, I think a lot more kit's would be sold, if just the parts were lower. The kit itself, could remain the same, but the replacement parts on a few things, whew! It's like ouch!!! LOL!
For the dial indicating, dude... LOL! Get a Hyperhub! Save yourself all of that and be done with it.. Same with the Hyperdrive.. It's expensive to buy the first one, but after that, just get tubes.. Those are cheap! Figuratively speaking of course.. I can't stress how the Hyper stuff makes it easier to build. The SE blade grips that come on the newer kits are nice though.. Very nice, so if you were to buy a new kit today, I would just keep those on there, though the hypers do have a little hole in them that you can grease your thrust bearings without taking the complete head apart..
But we love ours to death.. It will be nice to see when the N5 comes out what the price point will be..
