hmm

Very nice looking heli. I like the gear train. Wally needs to do a 20cc motor for this to really get it alive to pull pitch.

I could see vbar benifiting this heli very well.

I,m thinkin...

Somebody has been into my cad drawings for my Pantera gasser project that I'm building right now. The sliding motor plate for changing gear ratio's was something I thought of when I originally started building mine. Although they slide just the motor, I slide the whole plate. I would be curious as to what ratios they will have, might just have to give them a call, would like one of their mufflers as well.

I really feel sorry for you blokes in the UK, as the Century distributor their seems more intent on using the Century brand name to sell non Century made product like the mini electrics that they bring in from the orient, rather then to do a proper job with the real Century product from Century in the USA. Heck they never, ever even carried the popular Raven 50, but rather tried to flog their own version of the Kinetic 50 that Century made for Hobbico! They called their's the Hawk 50. Nor did they do a proper job of product supply and support with the Predator Gasser, another popular Century heli.

I don't even think they have the newer NX version yet that has been out for months, nor the relatively new 50NX! Maybe it is time for Century to look for an alternative distributor in the UK.

But I know of a number of UK Century fans who have ordered their needs, helis & parts, from outside sources in France, Canada & the USA.

If you want links to some, send me a PM, as I understand we cannot link to sources for any product other then those who advertise here, in a public forum thread. As the sources I know are in France and Canada, I can give them to you in a PM.

imnxtc,

Your post is more than a little harsh. Before you slam Century UK in the way you have may I suggest you check on some of your "facts". I should point out that I do have a link with them in as much as I fly for them. Most of the problem with the apparent lack of support is that supply of parts to the UK has been poor and the cost of the kits, no matter how good we know they are, make them uncompetative. There was even a post here recently bemoaning the fact that the flagship Predator 90 has been unavailable for a number of years anywhere.

I would dearly like to have then new RadiKal as it would make my clubman F3C practice so much cheaper.

so whats wrong with our post you just admitted that century uk arent intrested. when you say uncompetitive you mean they dont sell as much as the little eletric toys as i call them. and perhaps its becuase of this that century uk dont buy in enough stock so they dont get the support or supply that other importers around the world do?

CENTURY?

Can you please provide a photo of the heli with the STANDARD boxy muffler thats included with the engine?

If its that ugly, for sure it will boost your muffler option.

time for a "craiglist" garage sale

I second that...

It would be interesting to know if there is any performance degradation with the supplied muffler...

A real bargain... since it is only 25% of the cost of the whole kit...

Seems to be at the lower end in cost for similar types of mufflers.
Just proves that the kit is priced too low.

I think it is harder to make a good muffler for a gas engine, because they have to deal with a lot more heat (expansion and contraction) and vibration modes then do mufflers for nitro engines.
