Hey guys, who has been running the stock t/r hub without problems?

I have some stock hubs and don't see any reason not to run them when you add a nut to the grip bolt to make it a bit stronger.

I have been running the stock setup since August 2006. I have several hundred flights on the stock setup. The only thing I do a little different is to change the hub bolt to a better quality bolt and to change the bolt about every 100 flights. I also use a red loctite on the bolts. I use just enough that I can break them loose without heat.

I recently built an N9 for a local guy and he had me use an SE tail hub with the grips. I must say that it is a really nice setup.

Also the stock setup will hold up well with 95mm tail blades, the issues started popping up when folks started using 105's.

The kit comes with 95's. Folks quickly started putting on 105's and sheering the bolts.

No, when the kits first came out in July 2006 they were stocked with 105mm SAB tail blades. If the kits now come with 95mm blades that's a recent change, ie this year.

I've used Radix 105mms for more than 3 years on my N9s and had no issues with the stock hub. However, for safety reasons this year I upgraded one of my N9s with the new hub and on the other I kept the stock hub but installed the hyper tail blade holders. They work with either short or long hub.

For good quality screws and set screws see the RR advertiser RTL Fasteners.

My hub is stock with SAB 105mm no problems. I've had the new hub in my spares box for over a year, but haven't changed it out yet.
