Does anybody know what the deal is with the lack of CY cosmetically flawed blades? They have been "out of stock" for months now and when I call, they say they don't know when they are getting anymore in. I like the blades but almost $100.00 for the regulars is a bit expensive!! I have been using the Maverick G5 on my helis (very great blades by the way for $75.00) but I am missing my CY's!!

I guess their production runs are not putting out as many flawed blades.the guys that work/fly for CURTIS problably get first dibs for their practice blades and there are not many left for public sale

some(actually most) of the "cos flawed" blades, you have to really look hard to see the flaw

Lucky for Curtis I guess that they dont make as many mistakes as they use to. With that said, if enough people feel similarly, Curtis might take from this that folks would rather he relax the cosmetic quality standards to lower the price of his blades. Personally, I'd rather have the highest quality a manufacturer can produce and if cost is a concern, buy used. I did this very thing this evening for a set of Stubs and a set of Rotortech blades.

Either QC has improved or they have changed what qualifies a blade as a Cos flaw. I agree though they have been out for a long long time. I think they may be holding back to help their vendors sell the non-CF ones. Most people do not care if they are cosflaw and will buy whatever is least expensive.

I got a used set off the classifieds. However, there was no COSFLAW engraving (which has been on every CF set I have seen) and I could not find any flaws. They do fly great though.

and it could simply be that demand has far outstripped supply. You hear more and more people looking for them. They can probably sell all they get without ever having to even change the availability status on the website.

I call at least 3 times a week and they still don't have any and according to them, they haven't had any in a long time so I don't think that everybody is just buying them up. They probably got smart and just quit selling them because they weren't making any money on the regular $100.00 blades!!

Man I cant believe you guys are complaining cause I dont know anyone else who sell flawed blades at a discount that are of that caliber. Radix are top notch Im glad CY isnt so greedy that they wouldnt sell them at a discount.

I've talked to Brian and a few others at CYE and they have confirmed that cosmetically flawed blades are a thing of the past

My first set had a flaw, blades were fine but for $125.00 they should
look good while they last. My local hobby store exchanged them for a nother set and the second set was fine.

I was not complaining; just making an observation. I think the blades are great either way. It is nice to get them for 65 as opposed to 100, but heck they are still worth it at $100.

I've been using and liked the price of the CosFlaws myself. Hope they get some in stock soon.

I am not sure if mine are CFs or not. I bought them used advertised as CFs, but they do not have the engraving nor can I find ANY flaw anywhere.

I don't think I'd worry too much then

FYI, CF baldes are NOT a thing of the past, we just have not seen many sets at all. They have gotten better at not having these types of flaws, hence the short supply. But keep in mind, if there are some flaws in the production blades we will certainly get another supply of them. That being said, we would certainly like to never see them again, as we preffer the blades not have flaws in the first place. And we have no control over what sizes or types we receive. It is kind of all up to chance.

I hope that clears some things up.
