When shooting panorama from a remote controlled helicopter, I got tired of the tangled wires. With the use of Modelcam Pano controller, the pano mount rotates adjustable number of 360º turns every time I flip the transmitter switch. When I hit the switch for the second time, it rotates to the other side - that way the wires newer get tangled. I use only one channel to operate the mount as well as the camera.
What more - when finished, the camera mount nicely parks in to a set position. That way the center of gravity stays the same during descend, climb or landing.
Adjustable items: Number of rotations, speed of rotation, parking force.
To adjust the parameters, JetiBox is used. Some of you might have it already at home. JetiBox is originally used for setting the JETImodel speed controllers.

See it working - The mount was set to rotate twice:

Do you think it can be fitted to this mount, a VR360?
If so, price?

Yes, It could be fitted to any pano mount that rotates.
If you want to use one channel for bouth functions – rotation and camera trigger, you must control the shutter release by a servo. Which most of us does.

Accept the unit you need two switches that work similarly as you saw in the video. You can buy them yourself or I will sent them to you

They decide the parking position of your pano mount. It must be your idea where to put them. I do not have photoship one mount so I can not really say if there is a spot where to put them.
Realize the swithes are the parking position reference spot. Without them, it would not work.

One unit 129 Euro, Jetibox 32 Euro, Switches with RC cables 15 Euro + shipping (not sure 20 Euro should be enough)

JetiBox should be available at your place somewhere where RC stuff is sold.

Very nice.

Having seen the video of this pano controller I can say that I feel it is easily adaptable to the VR360. I could CNC some brackets for the switches and other components. I'd need a pano controller here with me though. If anyone who has a VR360 wants to try this, purchase the pano controller, send to me and I'll CNC whatever parts are required to mount it to the VR360.

Well I am glad you like it.
It is actually yesterday’s idea. I am still testing it and would like to adjust some of the features.
For example the parking force adjustment procedure needs some program improvements.
I tested the set up on my Predator gasser today and it was working well. No need to think about the parking position was very nice especially when the heli was too far above.
Well what I say is this: It is working as you saw in the video spot, but it could work even better. Don’t you want to wait a little till I do more testing and fine program adjustments?
The units could be reprogrammed later each time the software improves but they would have to be sent to us. That would cost some money for the post service and so on.
Also we are working on a version where there are no switches but a no-contact switching method, like magnets or light sensors.

Yes please, ill gladly wait...

How about a feature that do the spining sequence automatically by just fliping and releasing a spring switch so you dont have to hold it or flip it back again?

Yes... magnets would be excellent.

Now that would be great. use a momentary switch on the transmitter, bump the switch and let the mount do it's thing. Just need to make sure the mount turns at least 2 revolutions. preferably 3.

It is already designed as mentioned in your ideas – a spring switch on the transmitter is what I use to initialize the mount.
Number of revolutions could be set from 1-6
I would like to ad a port where a release servo would be plugged in.
By hitting the transmitter switch the mount would start to rotate and the release servo would hold the release button during the set number of rotations.

Three servo release positions could be adjustable from the JetiBox
1 No action,
2 Half way down - for the camera to measure exposition and so on,
3 Full down - for taking pictures

The second and third positions would go one after another right after the rotation starts. The times how fast they follow will be adjustable as well.

Yes that is what you need to set up our Pano Controller. Pano Controller is not possible to buy yet in any shop. Only here in small quantities by ordering directly from us.
