Ive just pulled my 600e out of mothballs and decided to mess around with the pitches to get more travel at negative, and I realized my two front servos ail/pitch even when the screws are tightened are lose and move around inside the frame.

Ive tried everything and spent a fortune of money over 2 years, but my 600e has never seemed to fly like everyone elses 600e`s, Im thinking maybe these servos have been moveing around since day one and this would explain why its always been so unstable and very hard to fly, and Im also hopeing its why it vibrates the way it does.

I hope this works, Ive always been at envy with how smooth everyone elses trex 600e`s seem to fly.

Wow, the screws are tightening the servo onto the spacer on the outside of the frame, not the holding bracket on the inside, my servos have been moveing around in the frame from the very first time I ever flew this heli and Ive never noticed in all this time.

Im not getting my hopes too high just yet, part of me is thinking that 2 servos slideing up and down in the frame 5mm shouldent really be enough to cause vibrations, but then again Ive seen a hairline crack in a sideframe no bigger than 1/2 an inch turn a 600n into a paintshaker, I should have it flying and know today with any luck.

God knows how many times Ive wiggled the servos sideways and they feel solid(as you do) but never noticed that there sliding around in the servo holes, how ever big the servo holes in the frames are thats how much they slide around if you understand what I mean.

Update, turned out to be a false alarm.

Bought some new blades and balanced them a few months ago, thought it had gone away, within 1 - 2 flights the tail is just vibrateing like crazy like it always has done since day one.
At some point Il change all the bearings, tail shaft, main shaft all again as Ive done countless times before over the years, maybe even buy yet another set of blades, then Il spend weeks screwing around with the belt tension trying to convince myself it makes it better than it was before.

My 600e has been nothing but an absolute POS since the very first time I flew it, its so unstable flying it even in the slightest breeze is almost impossible, its almost like I would imagine a heli to be without a flybar. Its bogs so much it nearly falls out of the sky after one measly sideways flip (so much for the Scorpion motor being so **** hot ) and basicly feels like flying an upturned bicycle wheel thats trying to shake itself to peices every time I fly it.

End of rant!

Sorry for the rant, every time I start thinking too much about my 600 I get really depressed, It sits there in my hobby room tormenting me, I think I may have to throw a blanket or something over it so I cant see it anymore, I havent got the heart to throw it in the bin it looks so nice and expensive!
Ive used its receiver for a foamie jet, now just have to figure out what I can use the other stuff in it for, maybe a 6s powered 90mm foamie jet!

Spitfire1,

Before you trash it completely try checking the large main gear for out-of-round. If it is egg shaped it might be causing the vibration. My 600e flies so smooth my Gasser and R-50 sit in the hangar when my one 6s is charged.

If that does not work balance the head with everything on it but the blades. Then add the already balanced blades and balance the head as an assembly.

Good luck.

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!

Spitfire 1, I'm prepared to offer you the princely sum of $50, that's fifty samollians, for your defective heli, sight unseen. That should solve your problem.

You would probly regret wasteing your 50$.

In all seriesness I think there will come a point soon where Il simply remove the servos, gyro, motor and ESC and give the heli away to somebody, I actually started takeing the servos out a few months back with that intention of giveing away to someone for spare parts, but then thought I would try again.

I will try one more new tailshaft and forward tail gear for the last time and then Im going to call it quits, Im not even prepared to waste any more money on new bearings.

Maybe I can figure out how to balance the head, at least it wonnt cost anymore money, Il have to do a search and find out how to do it.

No disscount to you, its not a hardware issue. but you know this is a issue someone else would look at and have it fixed in a few minutes. I think its just your tuning skills that are overlooking something.

with head off but mainshaft and tail in tact and tail blades off. if you spool it up to %100 do you get vibes?

no?

then add tail blades unplug servo and set tail blades with 0 pitch. Now spool it up again to %100 holding the boom tight feeling for vibes.

do this and report back

I think from memeory, last time I spooled it up with the mainblades and tail blades of it was fine no vibrations.

I balanced these latest blades with tape perfectly and also put on some new K&B yellow tailblades and it seemed almost vibration free for about 2 flights, then all of a sudden its back to it same old tricks, the rear vertical tailfin is vibrateing like a guitar string, and every now and then its so bad I get slight wag (tailkick) when the vibs get real bad.

I read in another post you should replace your tailbelt after a while, thats one of the few things I havent replaced yet.

but you said you had the same problem before you replaced the belt.

please just humor me and take the blades off and the head leaving mainshaft in and spool up and hold %100 for a bit.

if no vibes add tail blades and spool up again as I asked and then see if the vibes return.

you have a problem and your more then lost Im pretty sure im on to something but you have to test. these are not magical mystery vibes.

Im hopeing to fly my ducted fan jet for the first time today if the wind stays down, if I get time later Il take off the blades and spool it up.

I have never replaced the tailbelt, I was wondering if its something I should do, it looks OK.

When I did it last time the tail fin did not vibrate, so Im not really sure what Im feeling for by feeling the tail pipe, I would have though even if the helis perfect you would still feel some vibration in the tail, but Il give it a go a bit later.

my 600 tail without blades is very smooth and almost no vibes. not like my 450 anyway. with a TT i get a little more but a belt on a 600 is supposed to be very clean.

If I were you I might get a belt, its cheap and good insurance. Not needed for right now to solve your issue unless its missing teeth.

theres only one way to trac down vibes and thats at rpm and a hands on approach.
