Absolutely. I fly a 1/4 scale turbine at my field and no one flies father away than I do by a long shot. That thing becomes a small dot in the sky and when I get it back it's always all zero's on the flight logs. Outstanding RF link. I love DSM2 and would never use anything else.

Now, 9387ASH, as for the 16X....

I don't know what to do with 9 channels much less 16 channels.

3 years is enough time wasted. Taking a break for a while.

I was being defensive as I will freely admit that I like and am quite proud and feel secure flying DSM technology. For you to insinuate that JR users can hope that JR is going to use frequency hopping is a plain and simple attack we need a upgrade to technology on par with what Futaba is doing. Call that whatever you want it is what it is. There is no other way to take that.
Truth be known,Spektrumm started out using the FHSS and then decided the system they are now using would be better for our use.

Cool, if it really has a new operating system where they actually took some care and looked over how functions really should work to work best for the user, I buy one for sure.
Will be nice to see when the manual is released what they have come up with.

Interesting. I am a Futaba guy that used to fly JR. I am going to watch this one with interest. Not because I want a new radio, but because there are things that, had the JR had, I would have never switched. That is simply the truth, and I have learned, alot more things since the switch. Just convience things, that for the end user, would make things simpler(even with JR simplicity). But then, as you add features, things "can" get more complex, hence the 14 that I have now. It's a great radio also, and of course, it has it's faults, the main one being IMHO, that unlike a JR, the manual for me, did nothing. I read and read, and read, but until I got the confidence to get in there and play with it, it was very frustrating.. But now, after a few months, dude, it's gravy!!!

It is interesting to see die-hard Futaba "and" JR guys/gals. Just like helicopter mfg's loyalists. I love Align for the cost, but I fly Synergy for the quality. If I were to switch heli brands, it would probably be CYE or Miniature. But back to subject, I have had JR, Futaba, and Airtronics. For me, it's whatever floats your boat. But, it would be sweet for JR users, if with their new "ground-up" approach, they did give you all some new software enhancements/features. Because, honestly, I know quite a few people, that have recently switched because of things that the 12X cannot do, and for the price, to me, it should.

I am not bashing it at all, after all, I considered strongly getting one, and it's a sweet "looking" radio. But for the price point these days, for you all, you should at least get firmware upgrades, where you don't have to send it in to Horizon.. Thats an inconvience to you all.. And a dedicated throttle cut, this is weird, extremely weird, because the DX6 has it.. I sold a buddy of mine, my DX7, and he was like "dude, where's the throttle cut".. And I looked at him like "huh, what JR/Spectrum radio has throttle cut"? When he told me the 6 had it, I almost did a backflip.. I mean, things like that.. Why would the bottom of the rung radio have a feature that the top end does not? It was things like that for me at least.

I mean, the 14 dude, LOL, it's like a mini computer, but that is both good and bad.. Some catch on quick because they have used Futaba radio's, but for us JR converts, it's like "condition"? What is that? LOL..

But, the radio certainly looks cool.. I just hope they took the time to look at the end user and what the competition is offering the end user, along with the price point that these feature lists are being offered. If not, I think, this could be a bad move on JR's part. But hopefully not.. If nothing else, diversity breeds competition, which ultimately means more features and savings for the end users...

Excellent flying to all!!!!

+1 HelividD

Downloadable firmware updates should be a GIVEN for our high end radios. I was very surprised that even the 9303 doesn't have upgradable firmware. Our ESCs have upgradable firmware and our radios are several times more complex so why hasn't this been implemented in our radios?!

...now where was I, dh/dt = BS-dx/dt

Ahhh, so it has an SD slot and is doing away with the little program... Thats cool.. Hopefully, that will mean giving you all the opportunity to have some of the functions that we enjoy. Hey, I am about the masses! There is enough for all of us to have a piece of the pie! Thats just me!

I will say, and this was quite a shock, that until you get into say a 14 and it's programming, you really don't know what "all" you can do with that thing.. I mean, flaps and independent ailerons, I set them up in like 3 minutes with the 14. This was including adjusting the speed of the flap servo's to make them move slow and more scale like. All of these things, were extremely easy.. I don't understand why JR cannot do this. Really! And this probably will anger my Futaba commerades, but it's the truth.. I just have a different outlook on it I guess. The end user should determine the required function(s), and yes, the 14 is high in price, but honestly, I cannot think of a thing that it "cannot" do or would not do. So, should be the same with the 12X or the 11X.

To me, it's about money.. When you are talking about spending more than a grand on a radio unit for a hobby, your serious! Thus, you deserve some serious functions, even if you can't or are not "personally" going to use them today.. Heck(have to be politically correct here.. LOL), there are ton's of things I still have yet to figure out with the microcomputer that the 14 is.. LOL! But, that is a comfort to know that I will not outgrow it anytime soon..

We all(all over 1500.00 radio owners and prospective owners), should send manuals back en' revolte'! LOL! Ok, now I am just sleep drunk and should go to bed! LOL!

I just believe, you should get what you pay for! And you guys deserve more! I had a 9303, so I know!!! This is not a Futaba fanboy saying, "oh, mine is better than yours" type of thing! I am saying, give the consumer what they deserve for their patronage..

Now, do I think the 14 is superior after playing with both? Yes and no for reasons mentioned before.. If your willing to endure the learning curve, then yes, if not, then no.. You will cause yourself more frustration and not enjoy the hobby. Which that is what it's all about! Barring that though, feature for feature, yes, it does things that the 12 cannot imagine at this present time. But, that should be an incentive to JR and other mfg's to compete and up the ante' and vice-versa.. The end user should be the benefactor of the technology race! But it's all about enjoyment, and opening your mind to something different.. That gentlemen and ladies, is what separates and places us(heli flyers) among the elite! All sides!!!

NO!!!!!!!!!! Mechanical throttle trim is far better for flying nitro models!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe not for electric, but for nitro you can reach over and grab and see where the trim is. Pull it down and kill engine too.

Mechanical Trim PLEASE!!!
