You can cut the new torque tube to adjust the length. I usually just use some arrow shafts for replacement torque tubes, and JB Weld then dogbones in. To make the measurements, I usually just insert the dogbones into the couplers and install the boom into the block. Once inserted, I measure the exposed boom. Then, I remove the torque tube from the boom and repeat the measurements. Add 1/8" to the difference, and this will be the amount to cut off of the torque tube.

Also, it must be a modified Hawk Sport. As the original Hawk Sport had a wire in tube drive system like my old 60 size MinAir X-Cell's had.

The only Hawk that came stock with a T/T drive is the current Hawk Pro.

If the drive you received has a dog-bone on both ends, then it probably is one from the Raven/50NX, and will have to be cut down to fit the shorter Hawk boom....or you can convert to the Hawk Pro system with the single dog bone up front...or just use the longer Raven 50 / NX50 boom #HW3062A.

I think the current Hawk only has a dog bone on one end, The Raven/NX has em on both ends. That gives some extra movement in a boom strike/crash. Its saved my TT more than once. Id just switch to a Raven boom & TT. Any way thats what I did

The good ole times are now ,Hawk, Raven, Raven NX, Logo 10

Actually, just change the tail gearbox shaft assembly, and you can use the Hawk Pro torque assembly.

Just to insure clarification of this statement:

The Hawk Sport came with the wire-in-tube drive as standard in the kit.

Back then, their was an upgrade you could purchase (CN0520?) that converted it to the same torque tube drive as found in the 50 Century FalconSE and Raven 50. These all featured the dogbone on each end. On this upgrade the only difference from that of the Falcon and Raven was that it had shorter T/T.

I also installed this upgrade later in my Sport.

Unfortunately that shorter T/T is no longer available so as you can see from the previous posts, if the T/T you have to repair yours is the HW3063AS from the Raven or 50NX, then you must:

a - shorten it as described,
b - make one of the proper length using an arrowshaft (again something I would do years ago with my X-Cell Pro 60's from MinAir)
c - Use the longer boom (HW6062A) from the Raven/50NX
d - convert to the Hawk Pro system (I still do not understand why Century has not come out with such a conversion kit yet! I would bet most Hawk III, HAwk IV and Hawk Sport flyers would buy it and convert their Hawks.)
