Hi,

I am new to electrics and I am just getting back in this hobby after 6 years. I used to only fly Nitros so I am now loving both.

How do I get more power out of my Blade? DO i change motor, batteries, or what?

I have been away from the forums for a while now, but what seems to be the problem. I haven't heard of anyone wanting more power, but yes, you could go to a bigger motor, but I don't know what others are using. What is your throttle curve set at? Maybe you can adjust it to give the heli more head speed. I'm sure some of the other pilots out there will chime in and give you ideas of different size motors or setups they are running. Good Luck!

The bone-stock blade 400 has LOTS of power. Amazing really.

If yours doesn't it's most likely a lame battery. Get a nice 20-25c battery and see if that doesn't goose it up a little.

+1 Yep, a higher C rating will be able to release more energy to your motor quicker. However, if you are still using the stock ESC (I am) it may run hotter if pushed hard.

Adjust your throttle curves. Is it possible to get a larger pinon? I wouldn't bother replacing the motor.

Don't need a pinion

The stock pinion has 10 teeth and generates PLENTY of headspeed.

Doug is correct - the stock ESC runs hotter than a firecracker. That's why I installed a seperate BEC - to take some of the load off of it. Of course I also installed a futaba 401, different servos, etc, etc, etc.

I found that my zipoffs went faster with 10 degrees of pitch and not 14-15 degrees... has plenty of power up to about 10 degrees but after that it gets worse

"were you running a 15C lipo?"

Apparently I was. I bought cheap 15C 2200mah chinese batteries. Are they a lot less powerful?

I have plenty of power but someone at the field told me that the t-rex450 had more power and I wanted to figure out how I could improve it.
