Heh, i get that a lot. I just realized today is the one year anniversary of my Raven/NX50. this heli will always have a special place in my heart. i've learned evertyhing on this beast from nose-in to piroflips to everything in between.

Did you end up finding your tail rotor?

Oh, and fwiw, my flameouts weren't engine tuning. As it turns out a couple coils on my plug weren't glowing anymore. Swapped it out, and voila - good as new. Although I WAS a touch rich on the low end anyway.

And cbh: Nice flying man. Just too bad it was so hard to see. Need to zoom in a little more on the next one.

If it's made to be idiot proof, sooner or later they'll build better idiots.

Nice flying indeed.

Now you have to train your camera man/camera woman how to effectively use the zoom and infinite manual focus.

Of note, is that your needle setting around the half barrel opening is too rich (hence the burbling when ou unload). If you set this needle leaner (not the main needle) you will find your collective power response for tick-tocs etc will have more pop.

thanks guys! yeah, i was a bit disappointed when i noticed the tinyness of the heli when i replayed the video - it seemed a lot closer in real life. you can't even see the roll during the auto. oh well maybe next time - i'm still very thankful to my flying buddy for taking the time to videotape me.

oldfart, thanks for the tip. can you give me a timestamp of one of the times you hear the burbling sound?

the burbling sound happens everytime you unload. listen to the engine note/tone.

a quick test.

send your heli up into a full power steady climb out. then suddenly bring it to a stop and put it into a hover. listen to how well the engine unloads.

if it garbles coughs and craps, then your idle/mid is too rich.

if you get that tell tale crackle noise, then your lean.

if its perfect. the engine should unload and maintain a steady rpm without any complaints.
