How come you cannot find the drive shaft upgrade for the wire drive and a lot of other parts too. I have been looking and looking sold out/discontined is all i find. If these parts are no longer available then i have scale mechs that so far turns out to be junk. i bought the airwolf combo fuse and mechs and i have not been able to fly it becuse in testing this goes and then that. i tried to upgrade cant even get them.
should of i guess built it around a raptor. I will never buy a century prouduct again just because of parts support.

Did any one see where that landed???

I think you can't find it because you are simply calling it the wrong thing, no need to blame Century, it's called "Torque Tube Drive" (Part# CN0520CS),,,,

The Torque Tube Drive (Part# CN0520CS),,

as for the Mechanics keep in mind "Scale" means different things to different people, these Mechanics are the basics you will need to get you into flying scale cheaply, and isn't that what 30 size Scale Flying is all about, these Mechanics are designed so you can start cheaply and Upgrade what you feel is most important to you and your flying style..

http://www.centuryheli.com/searchre...0520BS+&as=#457

if you can't get it at Century/HW and you just have to have it try Leisute Tech in Canada ,,

yes, the NX parts will fit as long as it's the 50 Boom you have, but you need all the parts, you will need,,,

Torque Drive Coupler..#HI3154 (there should be 2 per package)

Tail Drive Primary Shaft with Spacer #HW3059A

SS Torque Tube ... HW3063AS

Tail Gearbox Input Shaft... HW370A

NOTE, the NX Tail Gearbox Input Shaft may be the same Shaft that come with the Scale Mechanics..

Hmmmm...I have, and have had, a number of these scale helis (Bell222, S-300, Squirrel, Long Ranger and Bell 47) and have never had any parts failure problems?

If you are, maybe one should start with examining what failed and why? I found that when built properly, the stock mechanics all flew very well and were all very dependable in these scale machines.

As for the tail drive. I also found the wire-in-tube system to be ideal for scale installation (easy to make for different lengths of tails) and to hold up very well under the stresses of scale flying.

If you gave us more info as to equipment installed. problems you are having etc. we could advise you properly.

May I ask why you are using the OS50 in this scale heli?

I found the OS32SXH fine in my 30 size Bell 222. And the test review in a Heli mag (I think it was RC Heli) a few years ago, on your Airwolf, also said the OS32SXH was a good choice.

And if you wanted some extra power, why not the OS37? Your mechanics are not geared for the OS50H.

What happened with your maingear?

What happened to your fan? The only time you can break fan blades is if the clutch is not securely screwed onto the engines crankshaft and properly locktited. When the clutch breaks loose. This will usually happen the first time you try to run it or start it when it is partially flooded - overly rich. This will cause the clutch to unscrew and push the fan up into the shroud, resulting in broken blades. No fault of the heli, but of the installation. I have Hawks and Ravens that have well over 400 flights each on the stock fan system, and never felt a need to upgrade.

If you are hearing any noises from your wire drive, I would suspect that the support mechanism has migrated forward or backward. This will happen if you did not properly secure the delrin spacers to the tube itself and/or to their positions in the boom. I like to use goop for securing them to the tube and a good bit of CA flowed down the boom as I rotoate it at a 45 degree angle to secure the spacers to the boom. This will insure the glue will anchor the spacers around their full circumference.

What head speed are you turning? You are aware that scale helis are designed to turn alt lower head speeds then our 3D machines?

I agree with Mutt. Many times when in shows sold out on their sight, a phone call may show they do have them in stock but have not upgraded the status on their site.

imnxtc, it's a 50 size Fuse so it has the 50 size Engine Mount and Gearing..

dsl11us,, sorry, I didn't call Century for you today, I had to leave a few times and when I got home again I totally forgot about it,,

the guys are right, the Century 30/50 mechanics hold up quite well,, as for the Wire Drive, for mine I inserted a good amount of Auto Wheel Bearing Grease in the Tube, then I added more Grease to the Wire, then inserted the Wire into the Tube, then cleaned off the excess Grease, it worked well with no problems,,

tell me just how you broke the Fan, if you broke it when starting your Engine I can give you a Starting Technique that will help you with that problem..

The fan broke not because of that. on a restart. engine was not flooded the two slots just broke right off.
after a run when i heard the wire guide noise thats why i am looking for the tail drive shaft.

Well it is a 50 sized heli and i the kit came with a 50 sized engine mount.

stripped 2 theeth that was my fault.

I never thought to call i just kept checking back and you would think after a month or so they would update there site.

I did use the same method you used on the supports i just dont like the wire noise.

""that so far turns out to be junk""

sorry for bringing this back up, but I was just reading up on some other newer brand helis just to see how they were designed, well I read 5 posts on 4 other brands whereby the owners didn't get many more than 10 flights on those helis before something broke on them and they crashed, 1 blew-up in the air on it's 8th flight, needless to say the owners moved on, and there was another very expensive top of the line 90 with many complaints of vibration problems,,, I guess what I'm getting at here is you can buy more expensive or less expensive and you can have worse problems..

Wow Wasp are you a rep?

Century has a track record of not having some parts. I had a Predator that could not fly for some time because of the crown gear shortage...
