Hello all,
I recently purchased a used N9 here on RR. ( can't wait to fly) I'm having a difficult time leveling the swash mechanically. All my control rods are spot on for length as per the manual. Everybody says to NOT use sub trim to correct the problem. I've tried adjusting the servo arm on the servo output shaft but the splines aren't fine enough to make minor adjustments. Confused! Please help. I'm using Futaba 9255 servos and a 14MZ radio. Thanks in advance for the help. I thought my 12Z was confusing to program. The 14MZ has WAY too many settings.

If you are trying to not use subtrim at all then you'll more then likely have to drill holes for the servo ball position. Yes it would be great to not use subtrim, and I have drilled some servo horns/wheels to not use subtrim, but a little won't make a huge difference. I think many would agree that 10% subtrim wouldn't be the end of the world.

Also remember to use heavy duty wheels/horns with the N9. This is as per the manual.

Jeff,
Thanks for the info. On my 14MZ I had to use a value of 70 to level the swash left to right. The max value is 240. So that exceeds the 10% rule. I'm using heavy duty arms at 14mm which seems to be the best setup. I also read the build that you sent me. Good info but a little confusing for the level I'm at. Makes my old Raptor easy compared to this. LOL

Thanks again.

There's nothing wrong with using a little subtrim if you've tried everything mechanically to get it close.

Perfection can be reached by of course be to drilling your own servo arms but it won't make any difference vs a little subtrim when flying.
