Hi all,

After returning to Helis following a long break I discovered that my once loved sim (Reflex XTR) seems to have dissapeared from the marketplace ?- the Reflex WWW now states that the package is no longer supported since Spring 2009 ??

Is this the end of XTR or has another company taken it on ?

Where can I get updates and downloads ??

Any information, leads or Links greatlfully received !

Many Thanks

Well... its a long story and not many info...

www.simwerk.de distributes XTR-2 or 5.05 version, compatible only with the new dongle (slimstick) and the iVol controller (see my threads for more info)

www.reflex-sim.de is the old company who developed Refles until 5.04 version, and seems to be developing the transmitting module and receiver for the iVol controller (so that it will be usable with your real models). I guess they're developing a parallell evolution of the simulator too...

As I said... sadly there's little info about what's going on...

You also have Phoenix Sim, Aerofly and Realflight if you want to try another sim...

Regards

Is there a life outside the sim?

Hi

Thanks for the info - do you use Reflex ?

I've found a few posts on Reflex versions running on MS Vista platforms ......

.....some of the posts advise that XTR Ver 5.03 can be installed on Vista PC's with no problems....

.... other posts (and the Simwerk WWW) advise that in order to use 5.03 on Vista, you have to install on an XP Platform first then copy the program files across to a dirctory on the C: of the Vista PC ?

Do you know which information is correct ?

I have Ver 5.02 and a Blue Dongle, so I guess I can only upgrade as far as Ver 5.03, as 5.04 requires the Red slimstik ???

Thanks for your help

Hey guys,

I have an original version of XTR. Do I need a hardware and software update (new purchase) to procure the latest version?

Thanks
Raz

That's the right way to do it (for me anyway). I couldn't get it to install on Vista, I just installed it on a computer with XP then burnt the Reflex folder onto a disc and drag and drop the folder onto the Vista computer, worked great after that.

Hi!

- The Distributor and Support has changed, not the Programmer:
old: www.reflex-sim.de
NEW: www.simwerk.de (Support)

- Owner of Reflex 5.00.00 to 5.03.xx will find the latest Version (DE and EN) at the Simwerk's Download-Center, this Version 5.03.1 is installable on XP / Vista (and Windows 7).

- Also Owners of 5.04.xx

- 5.05.xx has auto updates via Internet.

Hi Ronski,

Ok....so 5.03 must be installed on XP then copied to Vista, whilst 5.03.1 can be installed directly onto a Vista platform.....

....Have I got this correct ?

Many Thanks

PS....

...Ver 5.04 requires the red slimstick interface ? (i.e 5.04 is not compatible with the Blue dongle ??)

Thanks

Hi Sparkyman,

yes, you've got it.

Ver 5.03.1: and all Software updates from 5.00.0 to 5.03.0 are contained (lost CD or update-files...).

Ver 5.04.x: red slim Dongle or iVOL - both aren't only the hardware copy protection, they add Joystick mode and 2 compatibility modes to proprietary RC-transmitters Walkera 0701 and Nova Pro II).

Hi Ronski,

OK - thats great. I have the Blue dongle so 5.03.1 is the highest upgrade I can install directly onto my Vista platform.

Thanks for your help with this......

And many thanks to all who have posted here - appreciate your help with my query.

so basically, after I paid 200, I should pay another 100 + for the priviledge of upgrading when I can buy phoenix for the same price? I know what I'll be going for.

Hi Ronski,

Just a final thanks for helping me out with this - I downloaded 5.03.1 from Simwerk and it installed on Vista without any problems - runs fine with the Blue dongle (although my laptop hardware is a little limited).

Do you know of any sites that have Relex models for download ?

Regards
