Normally, the vibration seen in the training gear is an amplified version of vibration already present in the machine, not a unique vibration caused by the training gear itself.

No helicopter is perfectly smooth, but we try to reduce the vibrations as much as possible. Using training gear, you can see vibrations that normally would not be visible because of the amplification effect of the booms on the gear. This is a very handy tool when initially setting up a machine, since you can see all of the vibrations in the machine!

I respectfully disagree, Even if the heli could be set up viration free you hang out training gear under the blade wash you will get an unwanted vibration/wobble that wasent there before.

If it doesn't fly sell it!

I use 4 foot dowels and woofle balls for my training gear on nitro machines, and when I get all of the helicopter's vibrations resolved, the training gear is PERFECTLY STILL when the heli is in a stable hover. I have setup several machines for other people, and they are surprised how clean (vibration free) the machines are with the gear on and off.

As a side note, it is almost impossible to get a machine with minimal vibration when it is equipped with wood blades!

When I was learning with training gear I found if the TG was not good and tight on the skids vibrations would get really bad.

If you still doubt that training gear are totally "problem free", take a look at this....
