Yea, how do i connect a BEC to my system then?
PJ, 14mz rx and A123 batteries, where and how do i hook up that?
Are there any downsides with BECs at all?

3 volts? I haven't tested down to low voltage, but the manual specs say 4 volts. Servos are what, 4.2v maybe 3.8v?
Any hard manuvuering at the low voltage is going to drain what's left and you'll run out of battery before you can get it down under control.
I think 4.8 is approaching critical for me. I haven't gone below that.

I think i programmed my seagull to go off at 4.5, is that to low?

Now these days in colder weather, my twin 2700mah nimh packs barely survive a flight...
What packs do you have on your birds?

yep. Heat, limited current capability and rf noise and more wiring and electronics that could fail. Saying that I use a BEC on all my machines. None are external as I run all jazz or jive escs which have a great BEC.

Never had an issue with the switching noise with futaba fasst. 72/35mHz then interference can be a problem.

For the powerjazz then the western robotics HV external BEC is one of the best options. What are you using now Chris?
EDIT: just saw it. Maybe create a new topic Chris. Large electrics - BEC or REG!

Fergus

In the software program under the instrument tab, does the magnetometer dot always circle around the centre slightly in tiny movements when youve turned on the system, or does yours stay completely still like it was frozen?

Sure youre not mixing it with the inclination instrument now?

On your review the dot are a little of center, what does that actually indicate? Nothing that we need to worry about?

Which settings in the software is best to adjust the stick sensitivity?
I feel i have to move the sticks more to the extreme now than before, a bit annoying especially with the tail and yaw, i thought the main unit settings worked the same in the new as in the old
