My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I pulled my crown gear off my auto hub and changed out the gear that was stripped. I have done 3 gallons worth of flying since Ircha and pulled it apart after a mishap. The shaft that slides into the auto hub is showing some wear. I could feel a ridge where this is building. I hit it with some 600 grit sandpaper and smoothed it out, but I am wondering if this is normal. I do lube the inside and the shaft lighly wiht some light oil after its been cleanned.

I sometimes grit it with some sandpaper, just to smotth it a little...
If the ridge is to big it is harde to disamble the auto hub.

Is it possible that there is not enough lub in the torrington and that a little more is needed for the shoes to ride on lub rather than drag on a somewhat dry surface?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		It is normal, just hit it with some sandpaper when you have it apart to oil it. MA recommended about 75 flights and then a re-oil.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Yes I think your right I only lube mine when it's apart. You should make that regular maintaince. The easy way is to take the upper bearing block bolts off, that way you don't have to redo the main shaft collars.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Wear like that on the hub is fine, simply rub it as you have with the paper and that will sort that. When you go to reinstall it insert the hub a few mm in to open the Torrington bearing and with it open fill it with a good quality light oil. When the hub is pushed home it will seal the oil in and you won't have any issues.

I already buy part 866-5 inner gear and 0232 pinion gear to replace but I need some recomendations...
See this diagrams...




Problem is that inner gear is not wearing simetrically... I mean, It is wearing just in one place. See diagram above.
All the teeth are ok, except in the bad area in the diagram show above. See yellow arrows.

So, how come?

The only thing a I see different is that the auto hub assembly has a little movement by each other. Probable some shimm required.



Probably some shim in between..?

At this time, my fury 90 is waiting for surgery... and your recomendations...

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Hi Rojoalfo! before you put the new upper gear on check to see if the mounting plate for the upper gear is bent or pressed on at a slight angle. you can put the assembly on a mainshaft and dial indicate it or even just use a pointer to see if it is running true. If it is running off it will cause the wear that you are discribing . it can also be the seat of upper gear being untrue. in either case it will cause the wear you discribed because the gear is wobbling up and down in rotation . if you have it mounted already just rotate it and see if the gear lash changes any during rotation. You only need to add shims if you need to adjust the pinion to bevel gear lash. Hope this helps

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		it could have been bent due to a tail bump on the ground or just pressed on crooked . lots of ways to get bent. just seems the only way to see the wear you discribed is gear wooble for some reason.
