| i havnt messed with 450's in quite some time..but i have a nice super low time 450 Se V2 on the way i got a good deal on..what is the difference between the "sport V3" and the "pro" V3 helicopters..on the align website they looks pretty similar excepet the sport is blue and has a belt driven tail..is that about the only difference? just curious as i would also like to conver to the newer style head block and TT tail but id rather have the blue parts so they match the original V2 colors better...

Well first off the 450 Pro as they call it is a large step forward from the 450 Se V2's stock configuration. This is with a torque tube shaft driven tail. When this came out I knew they would have a problem with newcomers breaking T-Tube gears hitting the tail on the ground. I looked for what I called and newbie or entry level 450 with the belt and soon came the belted tail version called the sport. I read up on these and made my decisions. I went with the upgraded head and TT. To be honest the TT didn't do much the the Se V2 as far as handling. I was one that hated my V2 and had tail holding problems. I figured out tail holding situation just before the 450 Pro hit the market. I upgraded to the head and what a difference. It is just superior. The head has wider dampeners. This allows for a more locked in rotor disc where the spindle isn't allowed to flex as much. It just feels more like a 500 Trex. Well almost!
This upgrade got me so excited I looked on ebay for a 450 pro frame since I now almost had the pro version. All I needed was the head and frames and some ods and ends. I gave up that search since my v2 was flying so well. I run my v2 on 4s and went out and bought 4 new Turnigy packs. I now have 10 packs for it. I set aside 90 minutes in the morning 3 days a week and go fly my 450 at the local field. I have the align case for her and toss it in my van and when ever I have time I zoom the the field and fly. Small, easy, cheap, fun! Can't beat that. I would swear that my 4s v2 v3 conversion flies almost as well as the pro. Still have the desire to try somebody's pro or upgrade mine but lately I have seen pilots wanting to upgrade their pros to 4S?!? This leads me to believe "keep what I have" . My advice is just by the "V3 upgrade head"
1)On another note the TT is the same that is on the 450 Pro...
2) The v3 head upgrade is for the V2 but should be interchangeable with the sport.
3) The sport has its own head. My buddy bought the sport head and put on his Se V2. It fits. plain and simple. The sport head just looks a little nicer and if the blue is not a direct match its pretty darn close.
The Torque tube has been flying on my V2/V3 for a while now. I have 60 or 70 flights on her (if not more) and 4 or 5 crashes and it's cheap and easy to fix. I love it. I tried to sell my 450 S3 V2 2 months ago and I'm glad I didn't. The darn heli is such a great back yard flyer.
