Well I couldnt pass it up. I just received an NX from a buddy. Pretty much new, every thing was bought new for the build. It was built but I have this need to know issue so its now back in parts. I, for now, just have 2 questions.

The manual shows "ideal servo arm length 16.5mm" but lists the c/l on the arm mounting hole to the ball at 18mm. Im guessing one or the other is a misprint.

As installed, and shown in the manual, none of the servos have the rubber grommets and/or brass pieces. That ah.......makes me uncomfortable.

So are you all mounting the header with a stand off at the upper anti-rotation bracket hole, vibration issues?

Well this is as close to new as Im gonna get for a long time. I did have to stop myself from just spooling it up but Im glad I made myself go thru it from the ground up.

BTW possible issue, I noticed the counter shaft on this low time heli had a "spun" spot where the inner race of the bearing rides. It was not locktited so that could account for it. BUT I always L/T my shafts and let em dry in a frame half. Thats like the 3rd bad shaft I have seen this season (2 other century helis of mine). I know the others were very low hours and L/t ed. Could have a brewing issue again but I Hope not.

You read the manual

what the hell you do that for

it was easy rebuilding this kit I bought from a buddy
I did find some missing micro washers for the bell cranks
I also replaced the bolt for bell crank with a longer 1 so I could put a nyloc on it
Overall it is a very sturdy kit

OK, center line,,

well to suggest a Servo Ball Placement I don't know what type of pilot you are and I have not yet setup an NX yet, but for myself good Servo Resolution for a good Feel is most important, I have to have a good feel first, yet at the same time I will have full Swash Deflection, to achieve this I try to get as close to 90 Degrees of Servo Travel as I can, 45 Degrees Left & 45 Degrees Right,,

to get this 90 Degrees or close to it I set Servo Ball Placement so I can get all TX settings (ATV, Dual Rates, & Cyclic in the Swash Mixing Window) as close to 100% as I can at Full Swash Deflection,,

now if your pretty good with tight 3D you may want a little Higher Leverage Rate from your Servo Ball Placement, you may want to set the Ball out a 1/2 MM or so on the Servo Arm and set your TX settings lower like around 80%, but if you do still leave your ATV at 100% and use Dual Rates or the Cyclic Settings in the Swash Mixing Window to set Servo Travel,,

(Edited Note, as for the Raven with it's long Servo Arms your TX Setting should be lower than the NX)

(note, I know some of you have heard this before from me, but the more I write it the easier it becomes to explain it)

you can copy a Degree Wheel here, past it in a Word Processor Program and make it smaller so you can use it to help set your Servo Travel,,

Thank you WASP, your posts are always very informative. Im really just looking for century's suggested ball placement specification for cyclics. Throttle and tail are not listed either but see no reason why they would be different than my Raven
