My Posts This: Topic Forum | Now that the hyper tail gears have been released I will go ahead and state that I was fortunate enough to test them before they were made public. These gears are a fantastic upgrade and can withstand insanely aggressive tail flying if installed/meshed/ lubricated properly. The first set I used lasted about 20 gallons and it seems that even then I had not dialed in the optimal mesh since this second set has shown less wear so far. Not to rain on the parade of the original poster but I would have to say I see no benefit to the billet crown gear "in the air". Crash durability may on the other hand be a different story, however I have had one stock crown gear last several crashes before. If you are still stripping stock crown gears during flight the mesh is not correct. I definately can sympathize with any frustrations someone may have with the stock crown gear but eventually if you stay with the model and use some deductive reasoning you will learn what the proper mesh should be and will quit stripping them(or go broke ). The stock crown gear still works just fine although it's stupid expensive for a plastic gear as is the main gear. Todd definately wants to improve this situation and realizes this will make the machine much more attractive to any would be buyers. Unfortunately he only has so much say in the company and it is not solely up to him to make the decision of making it cost less. |
