Hi guys,
So I have 2 different types of lower main shaft collars.
As I know that you use a 10 mm id washer between the collar and the one way bearing I question which collar is best?
One has a ridge, the other not.
Do you think having less surface area, the one with the ridge riding on the washer is better, or more surface area, the flat collar?
All ideas and explanations very welcome.
And what to lube with, the washer, and how often?
Thank you
david

hi,

maybe if you post some pictures, it might be easier for us to see (bearings/collar)

i don's usually put lubricant on washers (i only do it once in a blue moon- when i need to disassemble the main gears or something )

cheers, khan

the collar with the ridge is the UPPER (CNE511) which has three set screws...ridge side down.

the collar with the washer is the LOWER (CNE509) which has a hole through it for the jesus bolt.

the ridge as well as the washer ride on the inner ring of the bearing.

tri-flow is the most popular used but I prefer corrosionX.

Have any of you replaced the upper collar (CNE511) with the low profile one (CN2302).

I've bought the low profile one because I found the CNE511 is really high and stops the swashplate going as low as it could.

From what I can see, the 620SE has a pitch range issue, so this should help solve it (in addition to grinding 3 or 4 mm of the guide pins).

Otherwise, I'm not sure you can get +/- 12 degrees.

For lubricant, what's wrong with the standard silicon grease (I've always used that and been pleased with it).

Yes...you can replace collar with a lower profile one for just that extra pitch effect you're hunting for.

Nothing wrong with silicone. If you like it and it works for you, keep using it.
