Are there any noticable differences in how they fly?

diffrence is

the pro is spot on and a miniture trex 700 bundle..and is fantastic..........torque tube tail
.
.
.
.
.the sport is still a 450 se that as had a few steroids with belt drive tail and is nothing like the pro
.
.
.
.
so overall i would say the pro is the better heli as it handles like a bigger bird.....
.
until you have flown a 450 pro you are still in the dark because as soon as you fly one you know this little marval is the right heli for you.......
.
.kind regards helinelly

if it broken.....glue the bast#$d...keep flying..i tell the wife my crashes cost 20! works for me

I have a hard time believing the TT makes the Pro fly like a 700.

Looks like the Sport flies quite well to me.

You guys are right, the sport really does fly better than the pro. Don't get the pro, it's not worth the money...

I think, Bert had said the SPORT and PRO fly very similar for most fliers. They both feel a lot more stable than the V2's. I'm guessing experienced fliers doing 3D and such may find the PRO a bit better than the sport in terms of stability, but the avg flier may not.

the pro has slightly different head geometry giving it a hair different feel.

there both small squirrley little 450's no matter how you slice it. granted a little more stable then a V2 but not a V2 with a V3 $26 head.

to say the pro is more stable then a sport is a bit of a stretch. Yes it is but again the difference as stated is so small its not enough to dictate one over the other for stability. its a small little heli and individual tuning will play the biggest part in flight charactoristics then anything else

Bert said himself that the only difference is that the pro's tail is a little more locked in.

+1, I think they will fly VERY similar.

I haven't flown a Sport, but I did look a couple over really well. The sport has essentially a Pro head on it, different colors, but the same swash and washout arm/base design (which removed the slop the V2 had). The head is just as wide.

I have flown a Pro and really liked it! I test flew a Sport for a friend but it wasn't setup quite as well as the Pro I flew. I like the look of the Pro better but I could have 2 batteries with the money ide save buying the Sport!

By the way I would be selling my Trex 500 to buy one!

Be very careful going from a 500 to a 450 if it's your only bird. Don't listen to the cheerleaders. No 450 flies like a 90 I don't care who claims it does. The Pro is still a 450 and will not be as stable as a 500 let alone a 700. Everytime a new 450 comes out people throw out crap like "it flies like a 90". Sorry but the only thing that flies like a 90 is a 90. Please don't buy one based on the RR hype. If you are really serious fly one for yourself. Not just one flight but do several over a period of time to be 100% sure you want to make the change. Otherwise you will be back in a few months looking for another 500 and kicking yourself for the money you lost selling your old one.

Curious why you would sell a 500 for a 450?

the 500 was good and all

but the pro is on rails and 3d is so dialed.....it realy does handle like a 500 size heli and every thing is alot cheaper per crash...also $29 for 40c rhino lipos makes this heli alittle gem........and i am calling it the best heli in my fleet....but still love my 600's.....

so as for you selling your 500 to fund the pro i would say go for it...you wont be disapointed...

5 guys in my club have recently bought 450 pro's and told me that it was just what they needed to push more 3d moves out of them selfs...

some guys have even down sized there fleet because they bought the pro.....

just my 2 cents for the pro i give it full satisfaction rating because ALIGN realy did get it right with this bird...

hope this helps you dicide regards helinelly

Ive flown both, I think the sport may be a little easier to work on however I do prefer the features of the pro like the one piece landing gear, the placement of the tail servo, cyclic servo arrangement, the TT, the over all looks of it etc. I like the way the pro flies compared to the sport, it feels more...locked in I guess is the way I would describe it, thought it tracked a little better. Both are good choices tho and very affordable to crash.

Very well said GScott. While I haven't heard much of this talk with the 450 Pro (mostly with the over-rated Rave) no small heli is going track as well as a properly setup larger one.

I have both the 450 Pro and a 500. I love them both but if I had to choose one I'd stick with the 500.

I would choose the Pro over the 500, although I have no delusions about it feeling like a 500 in the air. The 450 Pro does fly EXTREMELY well which helps make up for its small size, but there is no such thing as a 450 that flies like a 500, 600, 90, etc. A 450 flies like a 450. That doesn't mean they don't fly awesome, there is just no subsitute for size no matter how well they fly. The bigger helis feel bigger in the air. I just wish the bigger ones were as cheap to fix as the 450s
