My introduction to Quick helicopters came through a used Bat 26 I purchased here off RR. I was pleased with the quality of the Bat 26 - I just had issues being new to the world of gas engines. Long story short I never quite got enough of the vibes out / got the engine running reliable enough to the point I gave up on it.

Having talked with Irwin getting parts along the way he mentioned he had a Mighty Quick on a 12s setup that would do what I couldn't do with the gas version. After numerous phone calls and talks around frame specs, what to include / not include, I mailed him a dx7 and the electronics and ended up with a RTF helicopter that was reliable.

Since I already had the mount for the Bat 26 and the Mighty Quick frame is designed to the same front tray / top rail specs it didn't take much to make the transition for the camera mount. I took pictures with the packs in the "stock" location. I'm cutting some plywood and going to be making a pad for them off the boom supports. Yes, that's how beefy they are! I'll just need something to offset the mount weight + DSLR camera w/lens and with the way the frame is designed I'm keeping the weight very close to the main shaft even with the two packs on the rails.

I have two flights on the airframe w/out the mount. On the two flights the helicopter was very smooth - saw the normal slight shake as it was gaining speed but I don't own a helicopter that doesn't do this. Prior to getting even close to light on the skids it was very smooth.

Sorry these pictures aren't the best - I'll try to get some outside when I get the chance. The helicopter next to it is an Align 600 - for size reference. This helicopter is huge I'll also update with some results once I get the camera and rest of electronics mounted on.

Thanks again Irwin/John - your support through this process has been greatly appreciated and I look forward to our future dealings with how smooth this has gone.

Got one test flight in this weekend before I ran into an issue. Coming down from 90ft or so it seemed to be coming down very quick. Ended up having it at full throttle and still dropping fast - ended up being a powered type auto w/no damage thanks to the pool noodles. Checked the packs and they had 43 volts between the two with no individual cells out of wack. Swapped out packs and the ESC wouldn't arm. Spent the next 8 hours or so trying to figure out what's going on with the ESC afterall was only 3rd flight. Never got it - new 110-HV esc went on and now it's fine again. Hovered 4 min or so with dummy weight and seems fine. Old ESC will go back to castle - still looks brand new and never got warmer then room temperature

Anyway, here are some pics from out at the test area and one of my buddy below (raw, guess I should of touched it up).

Well thanks to Irwin and Jon I got what I thought was an ESC issue sorted out with the new motor they sent. They even sent this motor no charge and next day air - awesome customer service considering the first motor was new and I am pushing these motors here at 6500 feet.

The new motor is a 5030-18t and has tons of torque. It had it's maiden job this morning and passed with flying colors. If anything I need to work on my pucker factor flying it high enough and away from obstacles I picked up a helicommand here off RR going to give that a go to see how it feels with some stablization.

Thank You again for all the support,

Steve

Update

Got the helicommand setup and on this week - testing is under way. Thanks to the help on RR here we got it going We took this rig down to NM for a shoot yesterday and noticed we had a little vibe - went through and rechecked the mount attachements and found a few screws had loosened up. Tightened them up and made a slight tracking adjustment and we worked around any that remained.

Nice. Sure looks dry around you. No green at all. Good idea for LZ, the carpet to keep the dust down.
