you are correct. first, the swash is for 120 degree ccpm so theres that obstacle, a predator swash solved that for me. then theres an elevator servo that sticks out too far on the right side of the frames, thats gotta get a new location, then, when the mechs are in the corect location, the cooling fan exit on the mechs doesnt match up with the woodwork's cutout so theres that. so far, those are the only issues i have bumped into.
i dont believe the 600 electric has any issues but the nitro does. i always preferred using the hawk/raven, sceadu or the raptor for this fuse. they seem to go in no worries.

Finally found the darn camera!

First, Looks like I may have to trim the lower part of the blade grip arm, with full positive pitch the ball link is binding on it.

To get the swash balls to line up properly, I replaced the ones that came with the swash with Century long balls. This put them within a mm of the stock Trex swash.

Next up was getting the anti-rotation link made up. I used a brass sleeve, an FMP 3 mm ball and FMP spacers and a aluminum spacer. I did have to widen the slot in the anti-rotation bracket. The ball is the same distance out as the other 2 120 degree balls.

Finally, an overhead shot, our FBL "Family" and a shot of the head.

Success! We had our annual event at the home field this weekend. Spent Friday and Saturday (off and on) getting it ready. Finally got out in the light rain this morning and got in 2 test flights.

Missed the tracking on only 1 blade. But, I set them at 11:00 Saturday night! After the first pack I adjusted that 1 blade and made some Skookum adjustments. Second flight was much better with no vibrations at all.

Heli was extremely quiet and the only real sound was the main gear. I picked up a helical gear set today and will try out later this week.

Some more test flying today after installing a helical gear set. Gear noise is way down now, the most noise is now from the tail rotor!

Two flights earlier today timed at 4 minutes each, one flight put 2150 in the battery and one put 2200 in the battery. Should be good for 7 minutes.

A quick video from today, Head speed was set at 1530 for this flight.

Watch out for the gunshot at about 55 seconds....my neighbor was out sighting in a rifle!

Looking good man! Definitely looks like your getting the hang of it and it is flying a lot more stable than in some of the earlier videos. Have fun, good luck.

Cheers,

Back on the first page the pics of the links to the grips looked pretty straight. What did you do in the SK360 to get the phasing dialed in and the rods that straight. I used the phasing in the software and it did work, but the rods were still at a pretty good angle, a long way from straight.

You mentioned in one vid about the pitch, I'm using Raptor 50 mechanics and had to use a really strong servo on the pitch to get it off the ground slowly, instead of almost full pitch before it would come off the ground and when it did it popped up about 10 ft.
In your case you have three servos for the pitch, but you may think about some stronger servos.

Yes, It's flying much better now. I made a couple of adjustments to the SK-360 that made a big difference.

I just kept tinkering with it, I'll look and see what my Phasing number ended up being.

Taking off and flying is no problem, going straight down into your own rotor wash is! Real heli's are subject to the same thing. Power in a real heli doesn't help....you have to fly out of it.

Faster servos help when using a FBL system, they "like" faster servos. I'm using HiTec 5245-MG servos currently. On my Swift in my Cobra, I went to Ino-Lab servos and thay change made it feel better when flying.

Thanks for the pics!

Tightened the blades a bit more today and got in a couple of late afternoon flights. Tightening the blades cured the descent vibration. I've started the process of reinstalling the mechanics in the fuselage. Heavy rain is forecast over the next couple of days, so no rush.
