My Posts This: Topic Forum | I installed the new V3 torque tube kit in my EXI heli a couple weeks back. I have just begun testing it. The first day I took it to the field and the tail was in the grass a little. I spooled it up and it striped the gears. I never made it off the ground. So this time I added some longer screws and some servo collars to the rear of the landing gear to keep the tail nice and high. I have about four flights since the upgrade, and it is really nice the tail stays true to your input and stops on a dime. High speed backward flight is effortless. I am sure that my JR370 and 290G have a lot to do with that as well but there is a great deal of difference from the old belt drive.
I wouldn’t recommend it for the beginner unless they are really good at landing do to the fragile point on the tail gears. I will post some video as soon as I can find someone to hold the camera.
this heli flies really well. for $50+85 for the tail I cant see buying anything else.
