the Guy got it from another guy in another trade. Just want to see if its worth my time or If I should stay away.

Thanks for all input!

Oh, and how much is it worth? I am trading RC trucks for it.

Fury

Can't tell which motor it has but it's a fury extreme or fury expert, depending on servos and gyro roughly $500 to 600 depending on engine

Thanks for your response. Is this a good heli and worth getting? I was trying to stear away from nitros in general nowadays, so Not 100% I want to get it.

But from the sounds of things(reading this forum), The support is still around and they are a good manufacturer? Is this true?

Miniature Aircraft Supply is one of the premier heli manufacturers and suppliers in the world. They have been around for many years, and have recently been purchased by Flyco, the folks behind Heliproz and Ron's Heliproz South. Certainly a top-notch outfit. Support for the Minair line has always been great. I expect it to improve after Flyco gets things up and running.

The Fury is a recent offering, a fine heli.

It looks like a plain Fury 50. The main gear is different from the Expert and Extreme.
The 50 came out with the 60 Fury and 60 Expert.
600mm blade sound like it's a 50.

he said 24 inch blades. Do you mean PLAIN fury or plan fury?

I am looking through the reference book for the fury extreme, and it has a CF plate around the engine mount area, the heli I am looking at does not in the pics.

So this may be the low end model and need some upgrades off the bat like alumn tail?

If it is a plain 50, then it isnt worth as much I would assume.

It's not a fury extreme, as the extreme has a metal rotor head block. The extreme also has a split main gear for a driven tail, which this one doesn't.

If it only has 600mm blades, then it is almost definitely a 50 size. Looks to be an OS50 w/ a curtis youngblood muscle pipe.

Looks pretty clean though...

Yeah the pipe looks aftermarket for sure. So the tail is not active for auto rotations? looks to be driven right off the main gear?

This is still capable of 3d flight though right? What else is missing vs an extreme model?

looks like its a Fury 50 Basic,G10 frames, great flyer with a OS hyper or any of the later 50's .....

Doesn't have a constant drive tail , but can be upgraded to that , and a metal head block will make it very nice!!!

and a JR gyro ? they have yet to make a decent gyro !!!!

I got it! Traded for a traxxas slayer I converted to a revo! and I gave him a blade mcx to help me feel better!!

It has JR rx, DS811 servos and a 500 ring gyro, align regulator and remote igniter. The engine is an OS sx 50. non hyper. Curtis Youngblood pipe, MS comp CF blades, SAB tail cf blades

I have no experience with JR stuff, always been futaba and hitec for me! It doesn't have a tail servo, So I will order a futaba 9254 and probably a 401.

Other thing is, The starter I got does not have a hex shaft, is there an adapter for it?

If I want to upgrade to aluminum head and constant tail, which parts do i get it from? I cant find parts for this model,, or this model period!

better pics to come.

It seems so much bigger than my old raptor 50. And heavier!

After looking at some upgrades and the prices, I think I will keep her stock/ as is and fly it! If it is not good for 3d I might think about a fuselage for it. And I may give the JR gyro a chance, just to save some cash at the start here.

So I guess the 50 is the smallest one available from MiniAir?

Min Air used to make an X-cell 30. It was actually a nice little ship. I saw one fly quite a few years ago, it flew very well, and even did very nice autos.

-----

FWIW the Align regulator that's installed had a spotty track record, it looks like what many would call the "version 1". There are quite a few posts about that version dying at the most inopportune time.

The newer version works quite well, however.

Overall, it would appear you got a decent 50-sized heli out of the deal. Fly it and enjoy it.

Thanks for the heads up on the BEC, going to order a futaba 9254,a spektrum full range RX, and a new BEC. Then go through the heli and make sure all is good. I should have a hex shaft that will work laying around for this starter. so I will update with some progress.

Make sure you grind a flat spot in the start shaft if you plan on adding the Hex starter. The set screw won't hold without one.

I just tried that. The shaft I have (from a roto start for truck) fits the heli, but not the heli-max starter. Guess I will have to order the proper shaft or grind this one down, or use a drill?

Also noticed I cannot rotate the hex start on the heli at all by hand, shouldn't it rotate or is it connected directly to the engine?

Even if the shaft is directly connected to the motor, you ought to be able to turn it over. How long has this bird been sitting? You might need to remove the motor and make sure it's OK.
