Well from what I've heard that he is, and he didn't even get it off the ground not one inch.. so he must have more money than sense and didn't even think of the safety of his family or his dog nearby ..

Well let's see. Multiblade, large heavy heli, turbine, yes that can all combine to make one look like a rookie on your first hover even if you are experienced with RC helicopters. There is another video that shows him in forward flight and landing but he still doesn't look comfortable yet. That can be a little different game than a 3D helicopter that is relatively off-the-shelf by comparison.

This is why most have no cameras around when they do their first test hovers on scale models like this.

Hate to admit it, but waited the entire video for it and it never came.

The guy flew it in one of his other videos, and why the hell would anyone want to see such a beatiful machine crash??? I say good for him even if he is a beginner, it takes alot of guts and technical ability to put that kind of money on the line, although doing a first flight in your yard with kids around is a little risky.

I liked where he puts the transmitter down on the ground and moves the heli to the other side of the walk way. If that dog or one of the kids had run over and grabbed his transmitter and bumped the throttle, well you can imagine the chaos. Not likely but you really have to consider every possibility when using big Helis.

WOW! - I know nothing about multi-bladed helicopters but aren't they more challenging to fly as well? My patience level when new would of had that heli turned into a flame ball by now.

So lets see....

Fly a large expensive dangerous helicopter in a tiny area, near cars and house, check.

Fly said helicopter in tiny area with child and dog, check.

Move helicopter even closer to trees, for whatever reason, check.

Wear only shorts to maximize injury if said helicopter flies into yourself, check.

Just going over the Lets See How Many Mistakes I can Make In One Video vid.

His experience level cannot be very high if he does this sort of stuff. If he has the money to spend on this, great. Still needs to use some sense....

I would guess he figured he was not going to lift off more than an inch, so he figured it was safe. New heli untested, throws a links and blood everywhere.
Any changes, modifications or rebuilds I test far away from anybody.
