Looking to get recommendations on a set of main rotor blades for an Xcell Graphite gasser. I think 68/69cm.

Also looking at some new servos. Considering Futaba 9206, 9202 throttle and 9253 tail rotor. Are these ok, overkill or what?

Are there any other upgrades worth considering?

Thanks

Your choice.....

I had semi sym woodies on mine for a while.....now have Carbons on it: 680's I think. MAH's I think. It will accommodate 690 no problem. With 700's, watch tht you don't use longer than 105's on the tail.

I use digitals (JR 8231's) on mine, with a whatever on the throttle. I would think 9202's would be fine also. Throttle is fine on a standard servo, your not gaining with the 9202. Actually, on mine the carb spring will close the throttle pulling against the servo when the servo has power removed. Not a bad deal in case of servo failure or radio problems

Use any good coreless or digital servos you wish with at least 80 oz/in of torque for cyclic and a matching (matches the gyro) FAST servo for the tail. For collective, find the most power and precision you can afford ( I use 144 oz/in at.16 sec.).

Blades depend on the tail boom and tail blades to a degree. I would not run more than 700's and 105's with a 31.5 inch boom. I would try to run 710's and 720 if possible to absorb the torque, but this does need a boom change.

As far as upgrades are concerned you can go all the way. I would first add a 33 inch boom and tail shaft. The metal head as on the Fury makes it a little crisper and the CNC elevator arm and bell crank will make collective changes more positive. The SE front radio tray teamed up with the rear rudder mount (the SE tray doesn't have a rudder servo position!) and pushrod will make it ROCK SOLID.

I have 9202's all around. Just be sure your throttle servo isn't any slower than your collective servo and you'll be ok there.

As to the others, for the tail, get the best one for your gyro.

Roll, Pitch and collective need as best as you want to pay. If you go digital, remember to get a large battery, Sub-C, not just 1000 MAH. But Sub-C for current peaks.

I'm still running wood blades but hope to get carbons very soon. I'm leaning towards the 690 or 700mm carbons. MinAir told me that a max tail rotor of 102mm blades is safe with 700 mains. Just be sure there is no way a blade will touch each other!!

Enjoy! it's a fun bird!
