Hey guys I'm looking for some help in figuring out what setting to use for charging and discharging my Century Glow Driver on my Triton EQ. I hate using the wall-wart as it takes too long. Any help is appreciated.

I'm still learning, get off my back!!! ;)

can you open it up and look at the battery inside? or do you still have the packaging that might tell you what kind of battery it uses?

for a nickel cadmium you want to use the NiCad setting on your Triton charger. I would set it to 2.0 amps for a pretty fast charge.

You also might need a charge lead. Common Sense RC makes the mega charge lead that has a glow driver adapter on it. It can be found here:

http://www.commonsenserc.com/produc...roducts_id=1394

or what I always do is just cut the lead on the wall-wart charger, and solder up some banana Plugs on it that plugs right up to your charger.

Hope that helps...

Come on guys thats a Sub-C cell. You can go up to 3X the capacity to fast charge. I'd put it at 5 amps as long as you have good short leads!

I'd buy one of these

http://www.rcatsystems.com/electronics/ligd.php

Then you'll only have to charge it once a year like I do

There is nothing wrong with fast charging a NiCD, it isn't a LiPO. Slow charge/fast charge makes no difference. You will only get a certain amount of cycles out of it either way. I personlly think they (NiCDs) last longer if they continue to get used, when they sit on the shelf for long periods of time they tend not to come back to life.

Power panel with glow driver charger on it

Get a power panel for your flight box with the glow driver charger post on it, always have a hot battery when you need it. Sort of like this one: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...?&I=LXACW7&P=ML

Charge it at 1C if you like. You can get away with more, since it's one cell, but 1C will be quick enough.

i.e. if it's a 1800mah driver, charge at 1.8 AMPS.

You could probably get away with three amps but have slightly fewer charges.
