I have the mSR BNF and it's bound to my DX6i.
The problem I'm having is that the mSR in a hover keeps it's orientation but will make about a three foot clockwise circle. When I add or decrease power, or go into forward flight it seems to be alright until I return to hover then it starts the quick circles.
What adjustments do I make to prevent this? A buddy of mine has one and his is rock solid.

I will add, my DX6i is setup in Heli mode, does this make a difference?

Thanks.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

Hi
heli mode is fine as long as you have the swash set to 1 servo normal , with 1 servo normal the TX does not do any swash mixing , so it is the same as ACRO , except you can use heli functions like throttle curve and throttle hold , HTH

On page 37 of the manual there is instructions on how to do the swashplate calibration. Normally that will fix the problem. Otherwise I also had one that the flybar would get tight intermitently I took off the links from the flybar to blade grips and reinstalled and that one then flew fine.

I noticed that my anti rotation collar had a slightly bent arm and when I tweaked it back to where it should have been it seemed to fix the ever increasing toilet bowl effect.

Perhaps go over the parts with a very fine tooth comb and check if they're all looking straight.

I did read where it said

If applicable, set your transmitter model to Airplane.
, didn't think it was applicable.
I didn't think of the the included a precision swashplate calibration tool. I hadn't crashed but it worth a short.

Had the same basic problem.

I actually had to use allot of trim for elevator and alieron to get it to hover/ fly stright out of the box.

Decided to adjust the ball links to get back to center trim... and that fixed it.

I also gained more authority in flight (especially forward and left)... since I centered the trims/ servos. I now have more throw/ travel in those directions.

Needed to came out 4 turns on elevator and 5 on alieron to get back to center trim... seemed like allot.

Thanks,
I've been wanting to give that a try, but my long work days (12 + travel to and from), been killing me lately. Too many priority and not enough time.
I guess when the Earth's spin slow down, they'll be more time in the day.

I found that by adjusting the ball links on the servo-pushrod (part # EFLH3008), the little heli trimmed out much-much better.
E-flight says "ready to fly and test flown-right out of the box," but such was not the case with the example I received.

Same for me Travis.

Came 4 & 5 turns out on them to get back to center servo with np trim. That's allot.

Once you center the servos... the added benifit is you gain back more throw in all directions. Much better at direction changes now

Oh well, I've crashed my MSR about a hundred times, and I'm finding that any and all adjustments, screw tightening's, bending...ect..ect affects the flight performance quite a bit. Now that I'm proficient with the little bird, I'm almost tempted to buy another one and make a fresh start with an Msr that hasn't been bashed as much as mine.
So far I've had to replace the main blades, tail rotor, Main Blade Grips with Hardware, and flybar.
Perhapes a "Parts I've had to replace on my Msr" thread would be in order.

I just discovered that tightening down the blade grips as snug as they will go greatly reduces the circle-hover effect.

I've crashed my MSR dozens if not hundreds of times.
Some really hard when flying in the wind.
Haven't broken anything yet.lol....

I believe they are test flown. But the guy testing them is not going to trim them out.
I can hover almost anything. It's second nature.I don't notice if it needs trims or not unless I let go of the sticks and see what it does.

The guy probably just pops it up and back down."It works".Box it up

I doubt they test fly ALL of them though.Maybe one or two a day.

Actually, I've found that by adjusting forward elevator trim slightly in excess (so that the heli drifts a little forward) and by also adjusting right rudder trim slightly to the right (so the nose turns just a hair to the right) the heli seems to fly better and is easier to keep from seesawing back and forth.(if I set the rudder trim perfectly straight, the heli tends to drift in one direction during forward flight)
I wonder if this is just an idiosyncrasy of my over abused Msr, or if other helicopters sometimes behave the same way?

Edit: Removed the tail fin, and am getting more stable flights.

Mine was doing the same thing. I found out that the screws that hold the blade grip to the spindle were just a little to tight. Even though the flybar moved free there was a slight amount of friction. Loosened up the screws just a little now it will sit in a hover with great performance. It is a lot more fun now. Chuck
