Just wondered if anybody else has converted their Beam to flybarless.I have just done mine, there is a bit of info on this thread here but it starts out as a 450 Pro project but changes.

http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/main-...-fbl-450-a.html

I am running the mini v bar and Gaui head and swash driver.

Had its first flights today,it was very windy and i need to make some mechanical adjustments and get the swash levelled properly,i have a levelling tool coming for this. Also it needs a proper trim flight, even so it flew very well.

I hope to get a video up in a few days.

If anybody else has converted one i would love to know how it went and what your thoughts are..

The Gaui head and swash driver are a perfect direct fit,the linkrods from the middle swash to the mixing arms are suitable for the links needed on the Gaui head.

The Mini V fits perfectly on the bottom mount although you need to drop the front to match the angle that the mast slopes forward at.

I will put more info and pics and maybe a video soon.

Also this is my thread on the Mikado forum which i find really useful as you get direct support from the manufacturer.

I am just using the one satellite Rx as i only ever used to use a 6100rx when i had the flybar and never had a range issue.I have good range with this also i have flown it as high and far as i would ever wish to and its fine.

I currently have the Scorpion 55a esc mounted on the front tray but c of g is well off so i am going to fit my spare Align 35a unit from my old 450 Pro as its lighter and smaller.I do not want the esc mounted on the frames.

You end up removing weight a lot (appart from the flybar!) no more gyro and receiver.

How many channels does the mini vbar provides?

Also, have you had to drill holes in your main shaft to fit the beam tail pulley?

It provides 5 channels i think,throttle,the 4 servos and a aux

I am using the Beam main shaft, just removed the Beam head and washout assy and the Gaui one is a direct replacement on the Beam shaft.

Looks great! I will be doing a similar setup over the winter with my beam. Just gonna take a few to save the $$ for the mini-v. Have you noticed increased flight times, or are they pretty close to the same?

I will get some better video possibly today and post it also.

I have not really taken much notice of flight duration yet.I still have my timer set for 4 mins 30 but the motor does feel cooler after flight.

I will make a note of my mah put back into the packs and see if i can increase duration at all, maybe could go to 5 mins but will check this out.

Just to add,the heli feels extremely locked in.The Beam is a fantastic model to fly anyway and certainly has plenty of cyclic power with the normal head.I have my settings pretty low as i do not want a fast flip or roll rate but i can make it faster if i wanted to.I think my Agility is set to around 43 so pretty low.

What i do notice is the model tracks better for sure.

I will keep you all updated

i, I usid kini vabr on my pro450 trex. However I got small isue on setup.
the heli fly Ok now but when I give stick command like ele or aile, the swash move slowly abit and stop and teh nmove fast the rest section.
I do notso it make me roll funny, heli just slow roll and then go quickly roll the rest of circle.
Does it because of too high gyro gain in swash setup?
any comment please advicse. thanks
