My Posts This: Topic Forum | The Swift initially came with an 8mm aluminum spindle. Unfortunately it was not strong enough for high rotor speed 3D. Note that the 6mm steel one in the Raven proved good enough in these same applications.
I bet it was easier for Century to just change the initial 8mm aluminum one in the Swift to a steel one of the same size, rather then change it to a 6mm unit which would requir different bearings etc..
I would think that the power train my be a better place to look at making more heavy duty in a Reven with a bigger engine.
That is probably why one of the subtle changes in the NX-50, that many may not realize, is that it has a more heavy duty maingear and primary pinion then the Raven 50.
These two items (HI3056A maingear and HW3045B pinion) from the NX-50 may possibly be fitted to the Raven if you do go the Tim Taylor route. |
