My Posts This: Topic Forum | First crash of the summer Friday afternoon. Sunny, 72, mild. Typical sport flying for me. Was doing successive rolls after having backed off my motor timing a bit. Bled off some head speed and got out of shape a touch and went in - inverted. Amazingly, sheared the top Jesus bolt, and saved the rest of the drive train. Straight boom, zero tail damage...nothing structural. Main shaft, flybar, spindle...Thunder Power CF blades. Had it test hovering to check tracking in less than one hour with interruptions. Perfect tracking from the bench with zero adjustments! Can't believe how lucky I got off. I think crashing inverted places less risk on the frames and tail since the main rotor takes the damage. Sturdy head took it in stride!
