FT Worth

Hello Tony,

There are a keen group of Heli flyers, that fly at the Thunderbirds field.

www.fwthunderbirds.org for a map and info.

www.aerohobbies.com has useful links to most of the clubs.

FW Helis....

Plenty of heli pilots around here, and as the others mention Aerohobbies is everything they say.

We have several fields, I fly at GSWRCC in east FW. and Frisco (Just north of Dallas) will host the Hirobo Cup South this summer so you won't get bored down here.

About where to move.... man that is tough, I would have to look at where I work and weigh the commute from different areas. The freeways can get pretty bad around here, commuting home on certain routes can seriously impact your flying time after work...

If I had it do do over, I'd probably move somewhere between my work and my flying field.

Where?

Where do you plan on going to work? Depending on the side of town will determine where you want to live and fly. By the way, no matter where you live Aero Hobbies will be the heli shop to go to.

Crashr30 makes a good point. There are seven cities (at least) in between Dallas and Fort Worth ...Arlington being one of the bigger cities that sits about halfway between the two. Depending on how far you want to drive to work, there are countless options in terms of where to live. I lived in Arlington and worked in Dallas, for example. I was right off Hwy 360 in between Interstates I20 and I30 so I had many options in terms of how to commute to work (30 miles). If you prefer smaller town living, you may want to go with one of the cities on the outskirts of Fort Worth. It's definitely worthwhile checking out the surrounding communities before heading straight into Fort Worth.
Just my $.02.
