My Posts This: Topic Forum | Two electric engine outs in one day.
The first one was caused from the motor cables being cut into from rubbing on the frames and they shorted out. I sanded frames, reinforced wires, and was good to go.
I flew one flight and everything was going great.
On the second flight after the repair I had flown for about 3 minutes and the motor cut out. I managed to save the heli. The LED on the jive120 was blinking 8 times wich means that "Over current detected by hardware, immediate shut off, no restart possible."
I fly extremely hard 3d szabo style. And literally beat the crap out of the heli. That is why I went with the 120. I figured it would be over-kill and I wouldn't have to worry about this kind of thing happening.
My setup is:
T-rex 700e 12cell (two six cell) Helidirect conversion scorpion 500kv (OLD STYLE) 2090 head speed 710SB's Turnigy 5000mah six cells (4.5 min flight times) Jive 120 85% flat throttle curve 14 degrees positive/negative
Last but not least when I finish my flights, engine outs encluded, the speed controller is not hot AT ALL. Ambient temp. However the scorpion 500 motor is hot as hell. Consitantly 170 degrees.
Thanks for any advice on the problem.
